Senior Operational Resilience Specialist
Alpharetta, GA, US, 30022 O'Fallon, MO, US, 63368
Let’s care for tomorrow.
Your ambitions. Your dreams. Your tomorrow
At Allianz Commercial (AzC), we are the global leader for insuring corporate and specialty risks in the Allianz Group. Whether it’s aircraft, international business or offshore wind parks, Allianz Commercial has an extensive range of risks covered when it comes to protecting businesses.
We are looking for a Senior Operational Resilience Specialist, based in Alpharetta or O’Fallon
Your Team
The Global Operational Resilience team delivers a wide range of first line defense elements needed to defend Allianz Commercial’s business processes, IT assets, employees and physical locations against threats. These first line defense areas include Information Security, Business Continuity Management, Crisis Management, Global Incident Management, External Fraud as well as Physical Security.
The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Head of Global Operational Resilience, the Senior Operational Resilience Specialist is a leading member of the globally operating resilience team of Allianz Commercial. Embedded in a group of experts based around the world, you design defense strategies and implement tactical measures which protect the organization’s processes, IT assets, employees and facilities against threats.
Domains include Business Continuity Management (BCM), Crisis Management (CM), Global Incident Management, External Fraud, Physical Security and to some degree Information Security. In this role, you develop requirements into practical, operational measures and also coach other team members. While you hold global lead responsibility for selected focus domains, you direct the delivery for the North America region across all domains.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
-
Strengthen operational resilience across North America: Design and continuously improve first-line defense frameworks for information security, business continuity, crisis management, incident management, external fraud prevention and physical security — ensuring critical operations can withstand and recover from disruptions.
-
Ensure regulatory compliance and governance: Monitor adherence to regulatory requirements, conduct risk assessments and audits, and maintain clear documentation, reporting and control frameworks across all resilience activities.
-
Lead resilience planning and testing: Deliver activities such as business impact analyses, develop and maintain continuity and crisis plans, and lead regular crisis simulations and business continuity tests to validate preparedness and identify improvement areas.
-
Manage incidents and coordinate response: Act as a key contact during operational disruptions, support incident and crisis response, coordinate regulatory notifications, and ensure timely escalation and resolution when needed.
-
Drive governance, reporting and risk insights: Maintain resilience registers, deliver regular reporting to senior stakeholders, and monitor regulatory developments to keep frameworks up to date.
-
Engage, train and influence stakeholders: Provide expert guidance to leaders and teams, translate complex regulatory requirements into practical actions, and deliver training and awareness initiatives to build a strong operational resilience culture across the region.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
-
At minimum of 5 years of experience in one or several safeguarding functions (e.g., include incident management, business continuity, data protection, compliance, information security or physical security);
-
Project management-related working style (i.e., structuring unfamiliar topics into manageable actions and orchestrating multiple activities simultaneously);
-
Ability to influence without authority and steer resilience topics across the local teams in North America;
-
Ability to remain calm and effective in high-intensity periods;
-
Confidence to drive own topics independently;
-
Willing to work with teams across times zones;
-
Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial.
-
Bachelors degree in business, technology or political science fields.
