Transactional Accountant

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Transactional Accountant to join the Central Transactional Accounting team within the Finance Services division of the Finance Factory. This role is responsible for managing a defined scope of accounts, ensuring the excellence of accounting operations — including posting in Accounting Systems, process automation, and continuous enhancement.
The successful candidate will organize and steer day-to-day accounting activities, maintain robust internal controls and procedures, monitor performance, and actively contribute to the digital transformation of accounting processes through AI-enabled tools and automation.
Key Result Areas:
Accounting Postings & Bookings:
- Record operations and transactions in Accounting Systems in accordance with group internal and regulatory requirements and deadlines, under local GAAP, IFRS, tax, and legal requirements.
- Ensure operations and transactions from Feeder Systems are accurately recorded in Accounting Systems by investigating and resolving any discrepancies or issues.
- Clear all open item transactions in Balance Sheet Accounts on a timely basis.
- Justify and document all open items resulting in open balances.
- Perform and document bank reconciliations.
- Review accounting journals for monthly close, identifying and resolving booking discrepancies.
- Support external audits and ensure timely closure of related findings.
AI Readiness & Process Automation:
- Leverage AI-powered tools and automation solutions (e.g., robotic process automation, intelligent document processing) to streamline transactional accounting workflows.
- Identify opportunities to apply AI and data analytics to improve accuracy, reduce manual effort, and enhance reporting quality.
- Collaborate with IT and digital transformation teams to pilot and implement AI-driven accounting solutions.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, AI trends, and best practices in finance automation.
- Contribute to the development of automated reconciliation, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics capabilities within the accounting function.
Experience Requirements:
- Total Experience: 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in Accounting and Finance functions.
- Relevant Experience: Hands-on experience in Transactional Accounting, General Accounting, Accounts Payable (AP), Account Reconciliations, and Month-End Closing activities.
- Team Management: Individual Contributor (IC) role with no direct people management responsibilities.
- Preferred Industry: Experience within the Insurance industry, Shared Services, Global Business Services (GBS), or Finance Factory environment will be an added advantage.
Academic & Professional Qualifications
- Education: Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Preferred Academic Background: Strong educational foundation in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional Certifications: ACCA, CPA, CMA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualifications are preferred but not mandatory.
- Additional Advantage: Exposure to IFRS, local GAAP, and financial reporting standards through academic studies or professional experience will be beneficial.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Technical Skills
- Strong accounting proficiency under local GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations.
- SAP knowledge preferred; proficiency in SAP modules relevant to transactional accounting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, data analysis).
- Familiarity with Solvency II Regulation.
- Exposure to or willingness to learn AI-enabled finance tools (e.g., RPA, intelligent automation platforms, data visualization tools).
- Ability to consolidate large volumes of data into structured and simplified outputs.

- Good understanding of accounting principles and local regulatory requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (mandatory).
