eCommerce Manager APAC
Auckland, AUK, NZ, 0622
This role exists to grow online travel insurance sales in New Zealand through allianztravel.co.nz. You’ll take global digital sales strategies and turn them into practical, locally effective campaigns and site improvements. You’ll own the numbers, manage budgets and agencies, and keep the customer experience sharp so more visitors become customers.
It’s a good fit if you’re a hands-on eCommerce marketer who’s comfortable switching between data, content and execution. You know how to plan and run digital initiatives, optimise a website using a CMS, and translate insights into clear actions. You’re confident presenting performance to stakeholders, and you can adapt regional plans to the realities of the NZ market. You’ll report to the Regional Head of Digital Sales.
What are the key responsibilities of the role?
- Plan and run digital marketing to drive sales: set goals, manage budgets, brief and steer media/creative agencies, and deliver go‑to‑market plans for New Zealand
- Manage and optimise allianztravel.co.nz: improve content, on‑site journeys and conversion, and keep product and offer information accurate and timely
- Explore and grow new sales opportunities: manage partnerships, improve content marketing and customer touchpoints, and support seamless product and campaign launches
- Monitor KPIs and performance end‑to‑end: build and interpret dashboards, run deep‑dive reviews, and present clear, data‑driven recommendations to stakeholders
- Work effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data analytics and cloud-based tools, using insight responsibly and in line with our standards for data governance, security and ethical use
- Localise global strategies: tailor messaging, offers and timing to NZ customer needs and the competitive landscape
What are the key requirements?
- 5+ years in digital marketing focused on acquisition and retention — you’ve grown eCommerce sales before and can show how you improved conversion and revenue
- Proficient with a content management system (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager) and hands‑on content publishing — you can make and ship site changes without heavy developer support
- Strong analytics skills — you track KPIs, turn findings into action plans, and are comfortable with dashboards and deep‑dive performance reviews
- Proven agency and stakeholder management — you set clear goals, give structured briefs, and keep partners and internal teams aligned to deliver on time and on budget
- Solid organisation and project delivery — you manage multiple campaigns and site updates concurrently, and you close the loop with clean execution and measurement
- Experience adapting regional strategies to local market needs — you understand NZ customer behaviour and competitive context; insurance/financial services and multi‑cultural environments are a plus
