Role overview

We are looking for a Business Case Specialist (m/f/d) in BT Economics for our modern and innovative location: Allianz Services, Barcelona. As part of the Business Transformation Team, you will play a critical role in steering and validating Business Cases for the Business Master Platform (BMP) implementations across Allianz Operating Entities worldwide.
Business Transformation is the transformation and innovation engine of the Allianz Group, driving business model harmonization based on simplicity, scalability, and digital solutions through the Business Master Platform (BMP). The BMP and its Global Assets enable the scaling of harmonized business models to Operating Entities (OEs) worldwide by embedding efficient processes and standardized Master Products.
This role offers exceptional exposure to financial analysis, strategic decision-making, and international stakeholder management across multiple countries and business functions. You will be responsible for challenging, validating, and monitoring Business Cases throughout their entire lifecycle, ensuring alignment with Group standards and driving continuous improvement in business case quality and benefit realization.

What you do:

  • Develop, review, and validate Business Cases for transformation initiatives across different Operating Entities, ensuring alignment with Group standards and strategic objectives.
  • Challenge and validate information provided by OEs, conducting thorough reviews of assumptions, calculations, methodologies, and financial models to ensure robustness and accuracy.
  • Create detailed business case documentation, reports, and presentations that communicate investment rationale, expected benefits, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Work closely with OEs to identify improvement opportunities, refine business case assumptions, and develop compelling investment proposals aligned with company strategy.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the business case framework, templates, and validation processes.

What you bring:

  • Graduation/Masters, Diploma or a similar level of university education, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in business case development, financial analysis, or investment evaluation, ideally in a corporate or consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge and validate complex information, with track record of improving business case quality.
  • Experience managing multiple projects end-to-end, dealing with stakeholders across countries and organizational levels.
  • Fluent in English (business-oriented); additional languages are a plus.
  • Experience working in an international environment with diverse stakeholders is advantageous.
  • Advanced Excel & PowerPoint proficiency (financial modeling, advanced formulas, data analysis); knowledge of Power BI and data automation tools is a plus.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including ability to build and validate financial models, assess ROI, NPV, payback periods, and other investment metrics.
  • Critical thinking and challenge mindset, with ability to question assumptions, identify inconsistencies, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across different organizational levels and seniorities, with ability to influence without formal authority.
  • Strategic thinking with ability to identify synergies across different OE business cases and initiatives.
  • Detail-oriented with focus on accuracy, ensuring all calculations and assumptions are thoroughly validated.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapt to changing circumstances, and prioritize effectively.
  • We highly welcome candidates with a genuine interest and affinity for Information Technology (IT) and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), as these attributes are considered valuable assets to our team.

What we offer:

  • We offer a hybrid work model which recognizes the value of striking a balance between in-person collaboration and remote working incl. up to 25 days per year working from abroad.
  • We believe in rewarding performance and our compensation and benefits package includes a company bonus scheme, pension, employee shares program and multiple employee discounts (details vary by location)
  • From career development and digital learning programs to international career mobility, we offer lifelong learning for our employees worldwide and an environment where innovation, delivery and empowerment are fostered.
  • Flexible working, health and wellbeing offers (including healthcare and parental leave benefits) support to balance family and career and help our people return from career breaks with experience that nothing else can teach.
