Data Engineer&Architect AWS (DIA Datamarts)

About the Job

 We are looking for a hybrid Data Architect and Data Engineer who combines strategic architecture expertise with hands-on engineering capabilities. This role is balanced between designing scalable data solutions and implementing them. The successful candidate will define data architecture standards, data models, and governance practices while also actively building, optimizing, and maintaining data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms.  As part of the Allianz in Germany data ecosystem OneDIA, more than 200 data products need to be migrated from the legacy technology stack toward Snowflake and AWS.

What you do

• Design and create data models for all elements to be modelled (tables, data marts, data warehouses, etc.).
• Define the target data architecture and implement end-to-end ETL/ELT processes within the OneDIA ecosystem.
• Design and implement the required landing zones and data stores for raw data ingestion.
• Design and maintain staging layers using data lake architecture and best practices.
• Define and implement Raw Data Vault and Business Data Vault models across the organization.
• Design and develop customer-specific data warehouses and data marts within the Consumption Layer using data from multiple sources.
• Develop, maintain, and orchestrate data pipelines, ensuring integration with the Data Catalog and validation of data quality and processing results.

What you bring

• At least 8 years of experience as Data Enginner
• Experience with Snowflake, DBT (including GitHub), Agile delivery methodologies, AWS data services, IaaS, and container technologies.
• Proven experience in both Data Architecture and hands-on Data Engineering roles.
• Strong expertise in data modelling, data warehouse architecture, and modern data platform design.
• Hands-on experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformations using DBT.
• Experience with orchestration tools such as AWS Step Functions and UC4.
• Experience with Data Catalog and Data Quality solutions, preferably IDMC.
• Experience in GenAI and Machine Learning;
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
