About the Role

We are looking for an AI Product / Program Manager to drive the end-to-end lifecycle of AI initiatives in a large, highly regulated financial-services environment.

You will own AI products and programs from idea to scaled rollout, ensuring they are not only technically sound, but also enterprise-ready: compliant, safeguarded, observable, operationally robust, and aligned with risk and regulatory expectations. Your focus on platforms and other solutions, which are provided by Allianz Technology for our customers (i.e. OEs - Operating Entities of Allianz Group), which help the OEs generate value with Data & AI.

This role sits at the intersection of business, technology, and regulation. You’ll work closely with engineering, data, risk, security, legal, and business stakeholders to turn AI capabilities on Azure, AWS, Databricks and other platforms into safe, measurable business value.

What You’ll Do

Product & Program Ownership

  • Own the vision, roadmap, and delivery of AI products and automation programs for OEs in a large corporate environment.
  • Translate regulatory, risk, and business requirements into clear product requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritize and manage backlogs, define MVPs, and drive iterative delivery with engineering, data science, and platform teams.
  • Coordinate complex, multi-stakeholder delivery in a matrix organization, including change management, training, and adoption plans.

Enterprise Readiness & Compliance

  • Embed compliance, safeguarding, and responsible AI requirements into product design from day one (data protection, explainability, guardrails, audit trails, approvals).
  • Work with legal, compliance, information security, and model risk management to define and implement appropriate controls and governance for AI products in financial services.
  • Ensure all AI solutions meet internal policies and external regulations (e.g., data residency, model risk, record keeping, retention, and auditability).

Technical & Platform Collaboration

  • Partner with AI platform and engineering teams using Azure, AWS, and Databricks to define reference architectures and reusable building blocks for AI solutions.
  • Understand trade-offs between cloud services (e.g., Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, Azure Databricks, AWS AI services, Google Cloud AI) to make informed product decisions.
  • Shape requirements around observability, monitoring, logging, and MLOps so AI systems are supportable in production, not just proof-of-concept.

Value Realization & Risk Management

  • Define product success metrics (adoption, automation rate, risk reduction, operational efficiency, user satisfaction) and track them rigorously.
  • Identify, map, and manage risks (technical, operational, regulatory) throughout the lifecycle of AI initiatives.
  • Communicate progress and risk status to senior stakeholders through clear, structured reporting and program governance.

What You Bring

Experience

  • Several years of experience as a Product Manager, Program Manager, or similar role delivering digital or data/AI products in a large enterprise.
  • Experience working in financial services or other strongly regulated industries.
  • Proven track record of taking AI/ML or advanced analytics use cases from concept into production and scaling them across business units.

Technical & Platform Understanding

You don’t have to be an engineer, but you are technically fluent:

  • Familiarity with cloud AI and data platforms, especially:
    • Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure AI services, Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning).
    • Azure Databricks and its role in generative AI solutions (e.g., RAG, LLM apps, and related training such as “Implement Generative AI engineering with Azure Databricks”).
    • Databricks more broadly (e.g., lakehouse concepts, MLflow, and the Databricks Generative AI Engineer Associate certification profile).
    • AWS AI/ML services and certifications landscape (e.g., AWS Certified AI Practitioner and newer generative-AI-oriented credentials).
  • Ability to work with architects and engineers to discuss data pipelines, model lifecycle, APIs, integration patterns, and observability requirements.

Regulation, Risk & Governance

  • Strong understanding of how regulation, data privacy, and model risk impact AI products in financial services.
  • Experience with governance processes (e.g., model risk committees, architecture boards, change approval boards).
  • Ability to translate regulatory requirements into product features (e.g., logging, human-in-the-loop, approval workflows, policy enforcement).

Soft Skills

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills at multiple organizational levels.
  • Ability to simplify complex AI topics for non-technical stakeholders and regulators.
  • Structured, outcome-oriented mindset with strong ownership and bias toward delivery.

Relevant Certifications & Learning Paths (Nice to Have)

You either hold or are willing to pursue some of the following to deepen your cloud & AI literacy:

  • Microsoft / Azure
    • Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900) – foundational AI and cloud concepts suitable even for non-engineers.
    • Azure AI Engineer Associate – validates skills in designing, building, and deploying Azure AI solutions, including generative AI scenarios.
    • Course examples: Implement Generative AI engineering with Azure Databricks (RAG, fine-tuning, evaluation, LLM integration).
  • Databricks
    • Databricks Certified Generative AI Engineer Associate – focuses on designing and implementing LLM-enabled solutions on Databricks.
    • Free on-demand Databricks training in data, AI, and lakehouse fundamentals.
  • AWS
    • AWS Certified AI Practitioner – foundational knowledge of AI, ML, and generative AI concepts and use cases on AWS.
    • AWS AI/ML and Generative AI courses via AWS Skill Builder or partner training, sometimes bundled in AI/ML certification challenges.

These are not strict requirements, but they demonstrate your ability to engage deeply with cloud AI capabilities and speak the same language as engineering and platform teams.
