About the Job

"Applications 1 (App1)" is a crucial element of the AZ Technology product-centric organization, and bundles the global products in Verticals, thus ensuring E2E responsibility. App1 is accountable for the build, roll-out & run of all global products in Central Functions Platforms: Finance Platforms; Investment Platforms; Risk, Actuarial, Procurement & Reporting Platforms; Treasury & Compliance Solutions, People and Culture Platforms, Data and Analytics Platforms, ABS platforms, Claims and Retail Solutions as well as for local systems in the convergence path to global target.

 

As Head of Office App1 you will report directly to the EMT member and provide an efficient framework to ensure effective coordination among all parts of the global organization, in line with leadership and overall business objectives of Allianz Technology. In this role, you will work on a broad range of strategic and operational topics, acting as an interface both inside and outside the organization as well as with the Executive Management Team (EMT) Member.

 

What you do

  • Directly lead the App1 office team to manage the agenda of the Head of App1 (e.g. preparation of strategic meetings including Supervisory Board, Board Meeting, Strategic/Planning Dialogue etc.)
  • Drive and facilitate change into the organization to achieve challenging targets in line with Speed-2-Value program and strategic targets, e.g. reduce costs, implement sourcing model, systematically improve quality by implementing customer-centric organizational changes, and improve process landscape.
  • Act as interface to communicate and collaborate with other Board Members, Senior Managers and other relevant stakeholders across the organization as well as cross-OE, representing App1.
  • Take measures in line with App1 controlling and CFO function to strengthen the financial position and achieve ambitious plan targets, while maintaining outstanding employee engagement scores.
  • Actively foster collaboration and best practice exchange across the organization as well as with other Oes and encourage the team to use state-of-the-art technology to drive efficiency and co-creation.
  • Independently lead/steer operational/strategic topics and initiatives, participate in working groups. Develop measures for e.g. board decisions to ensure compliance with business judgement rule and act as gatekeeper.
  • Ensure regular and high quality communication about App1 topics and achievements in close collaboration with Communications team.

 

What you bring

  • +5 years of IT experience, with solid understanding of Allianz (preferred Allianz Technology)  and educational background preferably focused around IT and Business Administration.
  • Strategic IT planning, including ability to align technology initiatives with business goals and objectives with solid understanding of IT economics, IT build, IT rollouts and run.
  • Performance oriented, self-motivated, and pro-active problem-solving skills. Flexibility and adaptability in effectively driving results in an environment of changing priorities.
  • Act as interface to communicate and collaborate with other Board Members, Senior Managers and other relevant stakeholders across all levels within the organization as well as cross-OE as a representative of the EMT member.
  • Capability to interact with key decision makers, solve conflicts and manage resistance. You embody the Four People Attributes to the team: Customer & Market Excellence, Collaborative Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Trust.
  • Fluent in written and spoken in English, German language knowledge is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with AI technologies and GenAI platforms is a strong advantage.
