An IT Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the production and delivery of IT services and solutions within an organization. This role involves managing IT operations, ensuring system reliability, and coordinating between various IT teams to support business objectives. Here's a general job description for an IT Production Manager:

 

What you do

Service Delivery Management:

Ensure the timely and efficient delivery of IT services and solutions.

Oversee the implementation and maintenance of IT systems and applications.

 

Operations Management:

Manage day-to-day IT operations, including system monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Ensure high availability and reliability of IT systems and infrastructure.

 

Project Coordination:

Coordinate IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to align IT initiatives with business goals.

 

Team Leadership:

Lead and manage IT production teams, including system administrators, network engineers, and support staff.

Conduct training and development programs to enhance team skills and performance.

 

Quality Assurance:

Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to ensure IT services meet organizational standards.

Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures.

 

Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT operations and projects.

Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

 

Vendor Management:

Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.

Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with service level agreements.

 

Reporting and Documentation:

Prepare regular reports on IT operations, performance metrics, and project status.

Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, processes, and procedures.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education: Typically, a bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.

Experience: Several years of experience in IT operations or management, with prior supervisory or managerial roles.
