Within the Security & Resilience division of Allianz Technology SE, Protection & Resilience (P&R) is a global team that brings together experts to anticipate and prepare our organization to respond to, and recover from, any disruption, emergency or crisis situation whilst at the time, find opportunities to continuously and comprehensively build resilience both internally as well as across the entire Allianz Group.

 

For this team, we are looking for a Risk/Internal Controls Specialist. The Protection and Resilience Risk/Internal Controls Specialist will be responsible for supporting the P&R department with activities that relate to Risk Management, Internal Controls, and Governance. This role will involve close collaboration with 1st and 2nd line of defence Risk Management to ensure that the Non-Financial Risk Management Framework is effectively implemented for P&R. The role will also be supporting the P&R team with designing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls, as well as supporting and advising on audits, internal reviews, and self-assessments.

 

What you do

 

  • Act as a key point of contact for 1st and 2nd line Risk Management, providing risk deliverables and assurances on behalf of Protection & Resilience (P&R), and supporting the annual Risk and Controls Assessment for P&R-related risks.
  • Collaborate with P&R colleagues and other stakeholders to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans, evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, identifying gaps, and recommending improvements.
  • Design and implement new internal controls as required, supporting P&R colleagues during internal audits and walkthroughs to test the design and operational effectiveness of controls.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on audit findings, risk assessments, and the internal control environment to management, ensuring coordinated risk management and compliance efforts across departments.
  • Provide guidance and training to P&R colleagues on internal controls, risk management, and compliance procedures, assisting with ad-hoc compliance requests such as regulatory mappings.
  • Ensure corporate documents remain up-to-date and in line with Group and regulatory requirements, staying updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure coordinated risk management and compliance efforts where necessary, acting as a liaison to facilitate communication and alignment.

 

What you bring

 

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in two or more areas: compliance, risk management, auditing, or related fields, with a strong understanding of internal control frameworks, risk assessment methodologies and regulatory compliance.
  • Solid analytical and conceptual skills, with excellent organizational and prioritization abilities to meet deadlines and work objectives effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing effectively in both written and verbal forms, with the ability to work independently and autonomously under pressure.
  • Familiarity with communication and presentation tools, including sound knowledge and experience in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Capability to build collaborative working relationships and work in virtual, international, and complex team environments, demonstrating advanced proficiency in both written and spoken English (additional languages are a plus).
  • Enhancing the ability to navigate diverse cultural contexts and contribute to global initiatives. International work experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards of performance and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Basic knowledge of AI technologies, principles and their practical use.
