A Senior Controller acting as the deputy and right hand to the Regional Head of Finance of CTO-1 and Central Europe.
An independent, end-to-end role that proactively drives and coordinates the controlling function, covering daily operations and ad hoc requests through to major projects and deliverables, while coaching the controllers and colleagues in the team and championing AI and automation to unlock real efficiencies in a complex, multi-entity environment.
What you do
- Deputy to the Regional Head of Finance: Act as deputy and trusted right hand, ensuring continuity of decisions and deliverables, and coordinating priorities, agendas, and information flow across the regional finance leadership.
- Organizational transformation: Support the Regional Head of Finance in unifying Germany, Switzerland, and Central Europe under the new Finance organizational set-up.
- End-to-end demand coordination: Proactively prioritize, coordinate, and allocate all requests, ensuring every task has a clear owner, deadlines are met, and deliverables are submitted on time and at the right quality.
- Quality and storyline: Act as the final quality gate, then debrief the Regional Head of Finance on the overall picture and jointly shape the storyline and key messages.
- Coaching and development: Coach, support, and develop the controllers and colleagues in the team, keeping delivery and quality high in a demanding environment.
- AI, automation, and simplification: Champion the use of AI (including Claude) and automation to drive efficiencies, and continuously identify ways to further simplify and improve our processes.
- Stakeholder communication: Communicate proactively with central and local colleagues, senior finance managers, controllers, central finance, the Heads of IT, and senior management across the CE region.
What you bring
- Degree in Finance, Controlling, Business Administration, Business Informatics, Economics, or a related field. Senior-level controlling/finance experience of at least 10 years, ideally in a complex, multi-entity or international environment.
- Track record coordinating cross-functional work, managing projects, and delivering to senior stakeholders under tight deadlines. Experience coaching and developing controllers or colleagues in a team setting.
- Hands-on interest in AI and automation tools (e.g. Claude, PowerBI Platform, or comparable) to drive process efficiencies. Knowledge of SAP (FI/CO) or other ERP systems; strong MS Excel skills.
- Independent and proactive, you take ownership, anticipate needs, and move work forward with end-to-end accountability as well as excellent organizational and time-management skills; keeping many deliverables on track at once.
- High personal standard and a sharp eye for completeness, accuracy and quality.
- Clear, concise and credible communication with colleagues and senior management; distilling complexity into a compelling storyline. Fluent business English; additional languages such as German or CE-region languages (Slovak or Hungarian) are an advantage, however not a must.
- You posses the knowledge and embrace AI and automation and continuously seek simpler, better ways of working.
- You are composed and effective amid competing priorities and demanding deadlines whilst also supporting, coaching and developing the controllers and colleagues in the team.
