Allianz Services within Allianz Technology plays a key role in Data Analytics and AI-driven transformation by providing impactful solutions, growing capabilities, and running selected innovation and scaling projects across the Allianz operating model. Efforts are focused on exploring new AI/ML approaches and emerging technologies for business-related applications and use-cases, working closely with Allianz’s business entities.
A Senior Full Stack Data Scientist with a focus on Large Language Model Development is being sought. As a Full Stack Data Scientist, you will be instrumental in improving and expanding explorative AI use-cases, specifically in the area of large language models. This is an extraordinary opportunity for you to apply your passion for cutting-edge AI development and machine learning to shape the future of the industry

What you do:

• Develop, design, and maintain large language models using cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.
• Propose system and model design for LLM-powered applications, supporting the design process based on stakeholder input and feedback.
• Maintain, curate, and develop datasets for LLM evaluation and fine-tuning, defining methodologies for dataset annotation by domain experts.
• Track recent innovations and models, proposing ways to use them in current and future applications developed by the team.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
• Responsible for the full data science lifecycle, from problem definition to data exploration, data preparation, modeling, validation, and deployment.

What you bring:

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• Fluent English skills (written and spoken) are mandatory and additional language skills are welcome
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist or similar role, preferably with a focus on large language model development.
• Experience with machine learning libraries and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.
• Experience with the HuggingFace stack.
• Experience with the Sentence Transformer framework is a plus.
• Experience in data manipulation languages (e.g., SQL).
• Experience in classical Machine Learning applications.
• Strong understanding of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical team members.
• Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment and to lead and drive complex operational and strategic initiatives.
