Strategic Operations Intern
BARCELONA, B, ES, 08005
About the Job
Join Allianz Technology Spain as a Digital Workplace Experience Intern and gain hands-on experience in data analysis, process improvement, automation, and execution support at the Spain Hub.
You will work within the Workplace & Internal IT team, supporting Digital Workplace Experience initiatives: building and maintaining Power BI dashboards, documenting and structuring processes, and helping the team turn data into decisions that improve the workplace experience for users across Barcelona and Madrid.
This role sits at the meeting point of data and people. As much as the technical work matters, so does the ability to explain findings clearly, write documentation others can actually follow, and coordinate with colleagues across different teams. It suits someone who enjoys both sides — working with data and communicating what it means.
What you do
-
Support delivery. Support the execution of Digital Workplace Experience initiatives — helping translate priorities into plans, tracking progress, coordinating with stakeholders (IT, HR, Iberolatam, HCL), and flagging risks or delays.
-
Build dashboards. Build and maintain Power BI dashboards to track workplace experience KPIs, service performance, and cost metrics, keeping data accurate and consistent across sources.
-
Find insights. Analyse user feedback, service data, and operational metrics to spot trends, recurring issues, and root causes — and propose improvements aligned with the Digital Workplace strategy.
-
Document clearly. Produce clear, structured documentation for managers and end-users, identify inefficiencies, and keep that documentation up to date.
-
Support managers. Contribute to manager-facing guides that help leaders with their IT-related responsibilities across the employee lifecycle, and spot recurring tasks worth automating.
-
Automate the routine. Design simple Power Automate solutions for reporting, notifications, and process automation, and help extract and analyse data from tools like ServiceNow and the Employee Portal.
-
Keep things moving. Prepare meeting materials, follow-up summaries, and action tracking for cross-functional workstreams to keep everyone aligned.
What you bring
-
Comfortable with data and Power BI. You're comfortable working with data and enjoy making sense of it. You've used Power BI or a similar BI tool, or you're keen to learn it quickly.
-
A strong communicator. You communicate clearly — in writing and in person, in both Spanish and English. You can explain a technical finding to a non-technical manager and write documentation people can actually follow.
-
Genuinely interested in process improvement. You like improving how things work. You notice inefficiencies, ask why a process is the way it is, and enjoy making it better.
Beyond those, the following would help you hit the ground running:
-
Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field, and available for a year-long internship through a university convenio.
-
Familiarity with Power Automate, Power Apps, or other low-code automation tools — or the willingness to learn them.
-
Comfortable with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams). Familiarity with ServiceNow is a plus.
-
Basic awareness of AI tools and how they help with productivity and automation.
-
Organised and detail-oriented, able to juggle several tasks while keeping things traceable, and happy working with cross-functional teams (IT, HR, Procurement, external providers).
-
Reliable, accountable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced corporate environment.
- Basic knowledge of AI technologies, principles, and their practical use
