Sr. Specialist – Corporate Actuarial supports life actuarial valuation, reporting, and business planning activities. The role is responsible for analysing New Business Value (NBV), Risk Capital metrics, technical provisions, and expense assumptions, while ensuring compliance with actuarial standards, regulatory requirements, and Group guidelines.

The position requires strong actuarial fundamentals and a willingness to develop expertise in market-consistent valuation and the Moses actuarial model, in line with the Company’s Actuarial Policy.

Key Responsibilities

1. Actuarial Valuation & Reporting

  • Monitor, validate, and analyse actuarial valuation data within valuation systems.
  • Prepare and review actuarial valuation outputs, including:
    • Statutory Reserving
    • IFRS Reserving
    • Life Management Dashboard
    • New Business Value (NBV)
    • MCEV / MVBS
    • Risk-Based Capital (Liability, RoRC, etc.)
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of actuarial reports.
  • Implement updates arising from new actuarial guidance and policies.

2. Actuarial Systems & Model Development

  • Propose actuarial model and programming enhancements to the Regional Centre of Excellence.
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate results.
  • Assess financial and dependency impacts arising from model changes.

3. Financial & Performance Management Reporting

  • Support the collection of actuarial and financial data.
  • Perform analysis for financial and performance management purposes.
  • Prepare and submit analytical reports to relevant stakeholders accurately and on time.

4. Activity-Based Cost (ABC) & Expense Analysis

  • Support tracking and monitoring of expense allocations by:
    • Distribution channels
    • Acquisition vs. maintenance costs
    • Direct and indirect expenses
  • Analyse variances between actual costs and actuarial expense assumptions.

5. Strategic Planning & Financial Modelling

  • Perform financial modelling for three‑year business plans, including base case and sensitivity scenarios.
  • Ensure modelling assumptions comply with Group guidance.
  • Submit forecast and plan figures to Accounting, AZAP, and Group Actuarial teams.

6. Regulatory & Industry Reporting

  • Prepare and submit required insurance statistics to:
    • Office of Insurance Commission (OIC)
    • Thai Life Assurance Association
  • Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of regulatory and industry reports.

7. Experience Studies & Assumption Review

  • Conduct annual experience studies.
  • Analyse experience results and support assumption reviews.

8. Crediting & Bonus Declaration Support

  • Perform bonus investigations.
  • Support the setting of crediting strategies and bonus declarations.

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science (Statistics major preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in: Actuarial, Finance / Accounting, Actuarial Pricing, Insurance-related analytical roles
  • Prior exposure to market-consistent valuation, MCEV, or life actuarial models.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
