Location

 

This role can be based in our Bournemouth, Bristol, Birmingham, Guildford or London.  office. This is a hybrid role with the expectation of you working on site for 40% of your time.

Salary Information

 

 

This role offers a circa range of £50,000

 

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

 

 

About You

 

  • Lead and develop a multi‑skilled People & Culture Operations team, ensuring resources and workloads are effectively managed to deliver outstanding service against key deadlines.
  • Champion the People & Culture Operations function across the business, building strong relationships with stakeholders and people leaders.
  • Drive high performance by coaching, supporting and empowering team members, fostering pride, accountability and continuous growth.
  • Guide the team through periods of change, promoting a customer‑centric, solutions‑focused and systems‑thinking mindset.
  • Design and deliver process and system improvements using Agile and Systems Thinking methodologies, ensuring accurate documentation and up‑to‑date process maps.
  • Support ongoing team development, ensuring colleagues remain current on HR processes, regulatory requirements, legislation and people policies.
  • Lead recruitment and onboarding for new team members, building a resilient team with balanced capabilities and no key-person dependencies.
  • Manage productive and positive relationships with third‑party suppliers.
  • Monitor People & Culture Services activity to ensure accuracy, compliance and service excellence.
  • Oversee regulatory responsibilities, including new legislation, annual processes and audit recommendations, working closely with Audit, Risk and Compliance as a subject matter expert.
  • Provide clear and timely upward reporting, including monthly and quarterly MI and risk updates for the People Operations Manager.
  • Contribute to wider project work across the People & Culture function.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of HR systems and best practices.

  • Strong operational experience managing a customer‑facing team. If you have been a team leader in another HR environment, this would be beneficial.
  • Able to identify improvement opportunities and lead effective process changes.
  • A confident user of Agile and Systems Thinking approaches to drive continuous improvement. 
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and simple way.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to spot trends quickly and translate insight into practical solutions.
  • A commercially minded approach to problem‑solving and decision‑making.
  • High attention to detail and the confidence to prioritise effectively in a fast‑paced environment, always keeping service excellence at the centre.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills, particularly when working with third‑party partners and able to lead and coach a high‑performing team
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple activities and deadlines.
  • Strong experience and understanding of Risk Management and the Regulatory environment.
  • Experience of using multiple HR systems.
  • Experience of planning and managing projects with conflicting priorities.
  • Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage is desirable but not essential
