Main Purpose of the Job
To prepare IFRS and Solvency II reporting to Group and Regulators to time and quality standards, and in line with governance requirements.
To assure the quality and relevance of internal and external financial reporting by implementing and maintaining appropriate financial controls and processes;
To manage systems, human, and other resources appropriately to ensure efficient, effective, and economic delivery of the departmental objectives.

Key Performance Measures
- Oversee the entire month end and quarter end close process to ensure compliance with Group accounting standards;
- Production of annual statutory and internal financial reports;
- Preparation of quarterly and annual regulatory report to the Central Bank of Ireland;
- Management of the production of budgets for the Company and support in the production of forecasts;
- Production of financial reports to the Executive Committees including Liquidity and Investment reports and support of Business Overview;
- Liaise with Group centres to ensure all Group reporting requirements are met;
- Management of the treasury and cash management processes;
- Support management in development of business strategies as required;
- Ensuring that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained;
- Management of both internal and external audits performed on this function;
- Stay up to date with all changes to Group, IFRS and local GAAP reporting and ensure full compliance with these.

Internal: AGL‘s CFO, Group Accounting and Reporting (GAR), AZ Group QRT/ABACUS teams, AZ Investment Accounting team, Finance teams of the host OEs of AGL’s branches, Group Tax, Group Actuarial, Planning and Control (GAPC )
External: Central Bank of Ireland, Auditors, Irish Revenue, Tax Services provider

Business Competencies
Education & Qualifications
- Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) with previous financial control and management reporting experience
Professional Competence
- 5+ years post-qualified experience in finance management in the life assurance industry and, ideally, in a cross-border company
Product and Technical Knowledge
- SAP Accounting system ;
- Knowledge of life assurance products
Management
- Management of the AFR team;
- Self-manage multiple priorities, routine work and urgent issues;
Commercial Awareness
