Advanced Resource & Planning Analyst

You will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and delivering workforce planning and budget models across multiple products, brands and channels that effectively translate business drivers into precise workload and Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) requirements. You will actively monitor actual performance against the plan, identifying key variances and recommending actions to optimize resources and plans, ensuring exceptional customer service is delivered within agreed costs. Your models will incorporate and manage occupancy and shrinkage at agreed levels, supporting our commitment to making Allianz a great place to work.
Location and Salary
This is a hybrid role, with options to work from either our Bournemouth, Leeds, or Birmingham office, with a requirement to be in the office for two days each month.
Pay: Circa £46,000-£48,000. Dependant on skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. 5-Year Budget Model
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and other key business areas to build / maintain resource models aligned with strategic business drivers (e.g., OIF, quotes, renewals, claims).
Develop models that:
- Calculate future workloads based on business trends and external intelligence.
- Incorporate shrinkage allowances to maintain a balanced working environment.
- Apply occupancy calculations to prevent employee overwork.
- Provide monthly FTE requirements and high-level recruitment forecasts.
2. Variance Reporting
- Deliver detailed analysis of performance against planned metrics, highlighting trends and variances.
Produce reports that:
- Track key business drivers and identify performance-impacting trends.
- Review assumptions on volumes and handle times, providing additional insights where needed (e.g., site-based performance).
- Compare shrinkage levels against plan at overall and team levels.
- Present FTE position versus plan for visibility and decision-making.
3. 12-Month Plan
- Use signed-off plans and variance trend data to project future performance impacts.
Maintain models that:
- Highlight variances against workload trends and forecast future impacts.
- Use “what-if” scenario modelling to assess metric changes.
- Provide clear views of attrition, headcount, and recruitment needs versus budget.
- Track capacity and identify actions to optimize plans.
- Monitor non-budgeted shrinkages and assess their impact on capacity.
- Closely monitor actual FTE to ensure alignment to Finance plan
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and modelling skills with advanced Excel or similar tools.
- Ability to interpret complex data and present actionable insights.
- Collaborative approach to working with Finance, Operations, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting and influencing decisions up to Director/Executive level.
- Knowledge of workforce planning principles and resource optimization.
- Knowledge of Anaplan is preferable.
- Experience with Avaya WFM would be an advantage.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience in workforce planning and financial modelling.
- Strong understanding of operational metrics and capacity planning.
- Experience in variance analysis and forecasting.
- Familiarity with budgeting cycles and recruitment planning.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy of FTE forecasts versus actuals.
- Timeliness and quality of variance reports.
- Effectiveness of 12-month and 5-year planning models in supporting recruitment and budget decisions.
- Stakeholder satisfaction with insights and recommendations
