About the Job

As an IT Engineer, you are responsible for the effective management and support of application platforms that are crucial for running web applications. Your work is essential for organizations utilizing various application servers and platforms at the regional level in Central Europe (CE) to ensure their optimal operation and deployment.

What you do

Configure and optimize server settings for performance, security, and reliability, while monitoring server performance and applying security patches regularly.
Administer Apache Tomcat by setting up, configuring connectors and data sources, optimizing resources, and managing server installations and updates.
Manage WebSphere Application Server (WAS) environments, implementing clustering and scaling for high availability, configuring security policies, and integrating with LDAP authentication services.
Set up and maintain Liferay portals, customizing modules and themes, and facilitating integration with other systems via APIs and connectors.
Deploy and configure Oracle WebLogic server domains, implementing high availability solutions like failover and load balancing, and managing JDBC resources and JMS servers.
Automate application deployment using Jenkins and Ansible, implementing CI/CD processes, conducting pre-deployment testing, developing rollback strategies, and deploying builds regionally in Central Europe (CE).
Ensure management, functionality, and availability of operating systems at the regional level (CE), implementing system development, documentation, and security updates, while managing access rights.
Provide OnCall support tasks, increase professional qualifications, and perform tasks as instructed by your superior.

What you bring

Degree in Computer Science or a related field, with extensive experience in managing and supporting application platforms, including Apache HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat, websphere Application Server, Liferay Portal, and Oracle weblogic.
Proficient in configuring, optimizing and monitoring server settings for performance, security and reliability, with a strong understanding of clustering, scaling and high availability solutions.
Experienced in automating application deployment using tools like Jenkins and Ansible, implementing CI/CD processes, conducting pre-deployment testing and developing rollback strategies.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, capable of diagnosing and resolving issues, managing security patches and updates and ensuring system functionality and availability at the regional level (CE).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across global teams, manage access rights, provide oncall support and continuously enhance professional qualifications.
