Data Protection Officer 

 

Role Purpose:

Manage Corporate Compliance with respect to Data Privacy within Allianz Partners Australia and support Allianz Assistance Thailand.
Assist both businesses in meeting compliance and data privacy obligations under applicable regulations (Australian Privacy Act and Thailand Personal Data Protection Act) and internal policies.
Report to the local Australia Chief Risk and Compliance Officer (CRCO) and Allianz Partners Asia Pacific Data Protection Officer

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain compliance processes in accordance with Allianz standards and applicable laws.
    Support the Australian business in complying with the Australian Privacy Act regulatory reform agenda.
    Train employees on data privacy obligations and rights.
    Advise on Privacy & Data Protection aspects of projects involving personal data processing.
    Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for Australian and Thai projects.
    Handle data privacy rights requests and complaints from local data subjects.
    Collaborate with regional and group DPOs in handling requests, complaints, investigations, or inquiries.
    Define appropriate controls to ensure compliance with regulatory and Allianz Group requirements.
    Perform compliance spot checks at the local level.
    Liaise with legal functions to ensure compliance with EEA data transfer regulations.
    Review local Records of Processing Activities regularly

 

Profile Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor level qualification or 5 years of relevant work experience; minimum 3 years in compliance in medium to large enterprises.
  • Experience as a Data Privacy Officer, including report preparation and data analysis.
  • Desirable experience in project management.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt privacy principles to different jurisdictions.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Professionalism, maturity, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills

 

This role requires a proactive individual with a strong background in data privacy and compliance, capable of navigating complex regulatory environments and working effectively both independently and as part of a team. The candidate should have excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels and ensure adherence to privacy standards and regulations.
