As a Corporate Counsel, you’ll join a collaborative legal team providing practical, business-focused advice to support a dynamic and evolving organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with a financial services or insurance background to step into a broad in-house role with strong stakeholder engagement and exposure to a wide range of legal matters.


About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Corporate Counsel – Financial Services, you will provide legal support across Allianz Partners’ Australian business, with a focus on financial services regulation, insurance products, and commercial arrangements.

You’ll work closely with a variety of internal teams, contributing to both day-to-day legal advisory and broader business initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

🔹 Legal Advisory

  • Provide clear, practical legal advice across sales, marketing, distribution, claims, and operations
  • Identify and manage legal risk in line with business objectives

🔹 Commercial & Contracting

  • Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial and distribution agreements
  • Support the onboarding of new partners and business relationships

🔹 Product & Business Support

  • Assist in the legal aspects of product development and implementation
  • Support underwriting agency management and business initiatives

🔹 Regulatory & Compliance

  • Advise on compliance with financial services and insurance regulatory requirements
  • Support regulatory change initiatives and engagement with relevant regulators

🔹 Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong working relationships across legal, risk, compliance and business teams
  • Deliver clear and concise advice tailored to a range of stakeholders
  • Provide training and guidance on key legal issues

About You

✅ Experience

  • 2–5 years PQE
  • Background in financial services, insurance, or regulated environments
  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts

✅ Skills & Attributes

  • Strong commercial judgement and problem-solving ability
  • Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proactive, collaborative and adaptable
