Within our Benelux Steering department, we are currently looking for a Portfolio Manager specialized in the Workers Accidents (WAC) line of Business for Belgium. Are you up for an exciting challenge? This role will give you the opportunity to:

 

  • Lead, steer, monitor and control the P&C workers accident portfolio to ensure achievement of profitable growth according to plan and within preferred risk segments. Ensure compliance with all relevant Group standards (ASU, Allianz Rules for Technical Management in P/C, ...).
  • Develop the underwriting strategy and guidelines for his assigned Line of Business and collaborate with Underwriting to implement and execute it.
  • Manage the exceptional UW referrals excluded by the perimeter of the SME and Midcorp Underwriters.
  • Define and execute the technical product and pricing development to support the full WAC proposition, in collaboration with other stakeholders.
  • Track all macro economic developments (like eg inflation) and translate this into proper portfolio management

 

Your main responsibilities will be:

 

  • You'll be responsible for your portfolio steering and monitoring: control portfolio to drive achievement of financial targets (e.g. combined ratio and operating profit).
  • Defines the underwriting strategy to drive profitable growth and ensure the strategy is faithfully executed.
  • Identify market opportunities, including potential markets, target risk segments and clients, in liaison with other functions.
  • Conduct Underwriting File Reviews and execute the exceptional underwriting within the assigned authorization, including facultative reinsurance needs in collaboration with Reinsurance Department.
  • You will also be in contact with several departments within Allianz Belgium, therefore relationship management is key like participating proactively in local, regional & Group projects and representing  Technical P&C Midcorp within AZ Belgium, and externally to specific insurance association workgroups.

  • You're holding a Master in an economics/business orientation? Check!
  • Proven track record in an Underwriter position in the Workers Accidents area or in Portfolio steering? Check!
  • Some Project management skills or already lead and steer projects within a large organization? Check!
  • You're fluent in English? Check!
  • Knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a nice asset!
  • You feel comfortable with initial experience in AI , Excel, dashboarding and working with figures? Check!
  • You don't shy away from discussion and succeed in convincing and challenging all relevant stakeholders? Check! Double check!
