As a Reinsurance Operations & Accounting Specialist, you are at the heart of Allianz’s financial resilience. In this strategic role, you will manage the full lifecycle of reinsurance accounting, ensuring accuracy across local GAAP, IFRS (including IFRS 17), and Solvency II standards. Your Responsibilities
Reinsurance Accounting & Operations
• Transaction Management: Ensure the accurate booking and reporting of all accounting items related to treaty and facultative reinsurance transactions.
• Technical Reporting: Oversee the correct establishment of reinsurance technical and financial accounts, ensuring timely reporting to maintain and strengthen reinsurer relationships.
• Systems Oversight: Manage and update the Reinsurance Accounting Management Tool (IT Structure) to ensure the integrity of the data supporting all reinsurance activities.
• Process Optimization: Drive the ongoing development and monitoring of departmental working methods and digital tools to increase operational efficiency.
Financial Control & Analysis
• Inventory & Consolidation: Manage and control monthly and quarterly company statements, including the establishment of accounting and consolidation inventories.
• Internal Controls: Collaborate with the General Accounting Department to implement and maintain necessary financial controls and audit trails.
• Budgeting: Establish and monitor detailed budgets and forecasts for reinsurance reserves and activity.
Strategic Collaboration
• Claims Liaison: Partner with the Claims Department to critically analyze insurance claims, reporting thresholds, and attachment points to ensure the effectiveness of reinsurance programs.
• Renewal Support: Generate treaty statistics and loss triangulations to provide active, data-driven contributions to the annual reinsurance renewal process.
Your Profile
• Experienced Accounting Expert & Team Player: You bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in complex financial environments or reinsurance. As a natural team player, you thrive in collaborative settings and contribute positive energy to team dynamics, building strong relationships across departments. You hold a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Solution-Oriented Standards Specialist: You possess a deep understanding of IFRS (4/17), Solvency II (MVBS), and local accounting norms. You approach regulatory challenges with a solution-oriented mindset, transforming complex requirements into actionable insights.
• Technical Power User: You are highly proficient in MS Excel, MS Access, Power BI and SAP, with hands-on experience in specialized accounting software. You enjoy leveraging these tools to automate processes and increase team efficiency.
• Analytical & Proactive: With a sharp eye for detail, you don’t just spot issues—you proactively address them. You adapt quickly to evolving regulations and find innovative ways to stay ahead of industry changes.
• Multilingual Communicator: You are fluent in English and possess the communication skills to collaborate effectively in a global, multicultural environment. Proficiency in Dutch or French is a major asset for building bridges across the Benelux region.
