Reporting directly to the Chief Legal & Compliance Officer Benelux, you will lead the Belgian Compliance team and play a key role within our integrated Benelux Compliance team.

 

As the trusted partner for Belgium, you will serve as the primary counterpart to the Chief Legal & Compliance Officer Benelux on all Belgian compliance matters. You will work closely with the Senior Management Team, while maintaining strong relationships with Allianz Group Compliance, ensuring alignment between local priorities and Group expectations.

Your Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Compliance Leadership: Support the Chief Legal & Compliance Officer Benelux as the trusted partner for Belgium on all local compliance matters, while contributing to the evolution of the integrated Benelux Compliance model. Identify opportunities to simplify compliance processes, implement AI-enabled solutions where appropriate, and drive the deployment of new compliance tools.
  • Strategic Regulatory Advisory: Anticipate regulatory developments, advise senior management on strategic implications and support key business decisions through pragmatic guidance.
  • Policy & Governance: Develop, implement and maintain local compliance policies, standards and procedures, ensuring effective translation of Allianz Group requirements into day-to-day business practices.
  • Risk Management: Oversee compliance risk assessments, identify emerging risks, define mitigation plans and support business teams in managing non-financial risks.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Oversee compliance monitoring activities in Belgium, prepare management reporting and provide clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Culture & Awareness: Drive compliance awareness through impactful communication, training and engagement initiatives.
  • Investigations & Integrity: Manage whistleblowing cases and internal investigations with professionalism, independence and discretion.
  • Team Leadership: Coach, develop and inspire the Belgian Compliance team, fostering collaboration, accountability and high performance while contributing to the wider Benelux Compliance organization.

 

Your Profile?

 

You are a seasoned compliance professional with relevant experience, preferably within the insurance sector or a highly regulated environment. You hold a Master's degree in Law, and a certification as a Compliance Officer is considered an asset. You bring strong knowledge of compliance frameworks and non-financial risk management, combined with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. You influence and advise senior leaders with confidence and credibility, and your project management capabilities reflect a continuous improvement mindset. You are fluent in Dutch, French and English.
