The Role 

Reporting to the Managing Director for the Benelux, the Sales Director plays a key strategic leadership role in managing the sales and distribution of the company across all segments across the market to drive profitable growth and expansion.

Key Priorities/ what you do

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide sales steering and manage performance of sales team.  
  • Business Development: Develop and implement strategies to achieve business growth targets which includes identifying target markets and planning sales strategy to build prospects and generate new business. 
  • Market Research and Analysis: Analyze and leverage research to identify new market opportunities, industry trends, and potential areas for expansion. 
  • Networking and Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry contacts, to foster business opportunities. 
  • Proposal Development: Prepare and present business proposals and pitches to potential clients or partners to secure new business deals. 
  • Negotiation and Closing: Engage in negotiations to finalize contracts and agreements that align with the company's objectives while ensuring mutual benefits. 
  • Relationship Management: Face of the market for existing business partners.  
  • Tender Management: Partner with Key Account Managers on new or renewals, remediation, and cross/up sell. 
  • Deal Implementation: Support deal implementation and client onboarding for existing and existing business partner relationships. 
  • General Business Management: Partner with leaders and functional colleagues to determine business model for long-term sustainability and support various phases of new account which may include design, implementation, execution, and optimization.   
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in international markets and develop strategies to mitigate them.  This involves staying informed about economic and regulatory changes that could impact business opportunities.   
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with colleagues to align strategies and ensure a cohesive approach to business growth. 
  • Competitor Analysis: Monitor industry trends and strategies to identify potential threats and opportunities.

 

Key Requirements/whay you bring

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of work experience, must be customer focused and technically savvy with an ability to identify issues, think critically, and develop effective solutions while working in a fast-paced environment where collaboration is important.   

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years of leading Sales teams 

  • Business Development: Understanding the principles and strategies for identifying, nurturing, and expanding business opportunities which includes identifying potential partners/clients or target markets 

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial for presenting ideas, negotiating deals, and building relationships with clients and partners 

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders 

  • Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze market trends, financial data, and business metrics to make informed decisions and identify opportunities 

  • Strategic Thinking: The capacity to develop and implement effective business strategies that align with company goals and market demands 

  • CRM Database: Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management databases and the basic functionalities which includes understanding how to use CRM systems to store and manage customer data, track interactions and transactions, and generate insights to support sales strategies and decision-making processes 

  • Negotiation Skills: Proficiency in negotiating terms and agreements to secure beneficial deals and partnerships 

  • Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to identify challenges and devise creative solutions to overcome obstacles and drive business growth 

  • Project Management Skills: Competence in managing multiple projects simultaneously, including planning, executing, and monitoring progress 

  • Networking Skills: The ability to build and maintain a network of industry contacts and leverage these relationships for business development 

  • Product Knowledge:  Understanding of product features, benefits, usage, and competitive positioning.  The ability to effectively communicate the value of the products to clients, ensuring to share our unique selling points and value proposition 

  • Sales and Marketing Knowledge: Understanding sales processes and marketing strategies to effectively promote products or services and generate leads 

  • Business Acumen: Basic understanding of financial principles to assess the viability of business opportunities  

  • Adaptability and Resilience: The ability to adapt to changing market conditions and remain resilient in the face of setbacks
