Job role

Controlling is the partner of the business by enabling the Service Owners to have full transparency of costs (operational and capital expenditures, HR cost), to steer the P&L.
Bundling financial topics and ensuring that our stakeholders achieve their financial targets, steering the P&L by analyzing, reporting, advising and challenging the business with regard to actual, plan and forecast. Being the partner of our stakeholders by providing financial transparency and guidance regarding financial decisions. Drafting and assessing business cases to provide input for senior executives’ decisions. Evaluating staff requisitions, external spend and master data.

 

What you will do

  • Develop recommendations for financial targets within the strategic and operational planning and forecasting process (long-, mid- and short term perspective).
  • Monitor actuals vs. plan, analyses deviations and their drivers, recommend measures to ensure plan achievement and tracks ongoing progress of e.g. major project initiatives.
  • Support and challenge business representatives based on financial analysis.
  • Partner of the IT service owners business teams and project managers by providing financial transparency and guidance to the management team regarding financial decision processes and systems for controlling topics.
  • Create and provide financial analyses, reports and dashboards for various stakeholders (ad-hoc, monthly, quarterly, yearly base).
  • Evaluate, develop, coordinate and support the preparation of financial accounts , e.g. services, materials and cost centers.
  • Advise business in business case development, evaluate financial impact and provide recommendations for top-management decisions on projects.
  • Ad-hoc reports, analysis, requests (Excel, Power BI etc.).

 

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Min. 3 years work experience within controlling tasks, ideally in an international matrix organization.
  • Experienced in the application of systems that are relevant for controlling analyst, e.g. SAP FI-CO/BW, SNOW etc.
  • Experience in steering operational and capital expenditures and the related accounting standards.
  • Ability to work fully independently and solve complex problems or situations based on multiple sources of information.
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (mostly Germany).
