Role Overview 

 

The Group Technology (GT) – ITCo and Global Programs - Operations & IT steering department represents the interests of the Allianz Group and the Group COO and takes over steering of the Operating Entities (OEs) towards Operations and IT Group Strategy. As Ops & IT OE Transformation Manager you are responsible to actively drive assigned OEs towards the defined priorities and target picture by strategically supporting the implementation and harmonization of relevant Operations & IT projects, giving recommendations, and reporting to the respective Governance bodies within the Group.

 

What you do

 

  • Be responsible to coordinate, monitor, and actively steer the implementation of the Group Operations & IT priorities in each in OE, representing the end-to-end point of view of each market / global line.
  • In your position you are accountable for providing transparency on all defined Ops & IT priorities pertaining to the respective OE. 
    You uphold and create a constructive and effective relationship with all key stakeholders of the OE, our internal shared service provider AZ Technology and the Allianz Group internal stakeholders in particular H4.
  • Actively steer Transformation roadmaps defined by the H4 (steering board) topic owners for the realization of global and local Operations & IT strategy (putting it into the OE context).
  • Major IT investments and its related benefits: Content of portfolio structure, creation of ITCo presentations jointly with the OE;
  • Ensuring that critical topics are identified and analyzed (identify issues, analyze their root causes and their impact, e.g. on financials, timeline, scope), recommend and push for appropriate measures to get project back-on track.
  • Coordinate and orchestrate various steering tools of Allianz Group Business & IT Strategy sessions (BITTS) / Operations & IT strategy sessions (OPITSS), IT Steering Boards (ITSB).
  • “Strategic Dialogue” & “Planning Dialogue” processes within H4. 
  • Quarterly creation of the H4 KPI dashboards.
  • The exception management process jointly with Group Architecture.
  • Monitor ITCo project status via quarterly reporting in WAVE(reporting tool).
  • IT Project portfolio quarterly true-ups: Monitor and assess the OEs IT project portfolio and projects including recommendations for program/project reviews, assessments and recommendations to the decision making bodies.

 

What you bring

 

  • Diploma or Master’s degree in IT, Economics, or Business Administration. Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, SAFe, PRINCE). Willingness and ability to travel (~10%) worldwide, including short-notice trips. 
  • Professional fluency in English; other languages advantageous.
  • We highly welcome candidates with a genuine interest and affinity for Information Technology (IT) and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), as these attributes are considered valuable assets to our team.

 

You have 

 

  • Strong academic foundation in IT, Economics, or Business Administration.
  • Deep understanding of Operations and IT interdependencies with business functions. 
  • Extensive experience in international project management for large-scale IT initiatives (e.g., system implementation, IT transformation).
  • Certified in project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, SAFe, PRINCE); proficient in project management tools.
  • Solid grasp of financial and operational steering, including KPI impacts.
  • High-level quality management skills ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Proficient in KPI development, tracking, and performance analysis.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Good knowledge of the insurance industry.
  • Advanced MS Office proficiency (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Familiarity with SAP Integrated Planning and WAVE (preferred).
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: team-oriented, energetic, flexible, and committed.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced international environment.
