Job role

The Portfolio Controller for Group Digital Resilience is managing all financial controlling activities for the Digital Resilience Program at Allianz. This role encompasses budget management, financial reporting, forecasting, closing processes, service recharging, budget tracking and stakeholder coordination across the Allianz Group. The position requires close collaboration with Service Owners, Initiative Owners, Allianz SE Operations & IT Controlling, Allianz Technology SE, Operating Entities (OEs), and Group Finance functions.

The role demands a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical capabilities, technical proficiency, and the ability to operate independently in a complex, international environment. You will serve as the financial steward of the Digital Resilience portfolio, ensuring compliance with Group-wide controlling standards while providing strategic financial insights to program leadership.

This position combines technical controlling expertise with strategic business partnership, requiring both precision in financial processes and the ability to communicate financial matters effectively to non-financial stakeholders at all organizational levels. 

 

What you will do

  • Manage end-to-end financial controlling activities for the Group Digital Resilience portfolio, including budget planning, tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including management-ready dashboards, forecasts, and outlooks for senior stakeholders
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes in line with Allianz SE and Group-wide controlling standards, including provision handling and write-off assessments
  • Prepare and maintain IT Controlling (ITCo) materials, including questionnaires, budget figures, risk assessments, and program progress overviews
  • Calculate and manage recharge processes across Group entities and Allianz Technology, ensuring transparent and compliant cost allocation
  • Coordinate and calculate capitalization of portfolio costs in line with Group accounting and capitalization policies
  • Ensure data quality and compliance by performing SAP PSP quality checks, validating invoice postings, and enforcing controlling rules and procedures
  • Prepare financial input for Board of Management (BoM) materials and respond to ad-hoc financial analyses and management requests
  • Act as a financial business partner to Service Owners and Initiative Owners, providing guidance to improve financial transparency, efficiency, and performance
  • Coordinate independently with multiple stakeholders across Allianz SE Operations & IT, Allianz Technology SE, Operating Entities, and Group Finance
  • Manage end-to-end contract processes
  • Oversee invoice processing, including approval coordination, issue resolution for declined invoices, and alignment with Controlling teams 

 

What you bring

  •  Education: Completed degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a comparable field
  • Experience: Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience in Controlling or Finance within IT/Operations functions in an international corporate environment
  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles and controlling methodologies
  • SAP Proficiency: Experience with SAP S/4HANA or similar ERP systems (required)
  • Excel Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and financial modeling
  • Financial Systems: Experience with financial planning and reporting tools; familiarity with IRIS and H4 reporting frameworks
  • Data Management: Strong analytical skills with ability to manage large datasets and ensure data quality
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in financial data management, reporting, and compliance activities
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving capabilities with ability to identify trends, variances, and financial risks
  • Independent Working: Ability to work autonomously, take ownership of deliverables, and manage multiple priorities
  • Process Orientation: Understanding of controlling processes, closing cycles, and financial governance frameworks
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent time management with ability to meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Language Skills: Excellent English language skills (written and spoken) are essential
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and presentation skills at both operational and management levels
  • Persuasiveness: Confident ability to engage eye-to-eye with peers and senior management
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to coordinate effectively across multiple stakeholders and organizational units

  • IT Governance & Security: Experience in IT governance, information security, or regulatory compliance environments (e.g., DORA, NIS2)
  • Agile Experience: Familiarity with agile working methodologies and cross-functional team environments (e.g., tribe organizations)
  • Allianz Knowledge: Understanding of Allianz Group controlling structures, processes, and systems
  • Capitalization Expertise: Deep knowledge of capitalization rules and recharge mechanisms in large organizations
  • Digital Resilience Background: Experience in digital transformation or resilience programs
  • Additional Languages: German language skills are advantageous
  • Certifications: Professional certifications in accounting or controlling (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) are a plus
  • Advanced Analytics: Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools
