About the Job

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer with a strong foundation in cloud platforms and infrastructure automation, paired with solid software development experience. In this role, you will take the lead in implementing, and evolving our DevOps toolchains and practices across AWS and Azure. Your focus will be on enabling highly automated, secure, and scalable cloud environments through Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, GitOps, and modern DevOps tooling.

 

What you do

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient cloud-based solutions on AWS and Azure, ensuring adherence to functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Lead initiatives to automate cloud infrastructure, develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitOps methodologies and streamline deployments.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate best practices in development, code quality, and automation, while mentoring and guiding development teams in DevOps and automation practices.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of cloud applications using serverless architectures, Kubernetes, and event-driven patterns, while applying security best practices for authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance, scalability, and reliability of cloud applications, ensuring software systems meet design, testing, and security standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and development trends, applying new tools and frameworks as needed, and fostering continuous improvement through knowledge sharing and team reviews.
  • Promote team growth by mentoring junior developers, conducting reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

 

What you bring

  • Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on AWS or Azure Cloud infrastructure automation, DevOps practices, and expertise in CI/CD pipelines, GitOps frameworks (e.g., Flux, ArgoCD) and GitFlow methodologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Golang, or JavaScript, with additional expertise as a polyglot programmer in at least two languages, and experience in serverless architectures, Kubernetes (custom CRDs, operators, controllers) and event-driven patterns (queues, streams, pub/sub systems).
  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, including managing security protocols (ABAC, RBAC, JWT, SAML, AAD, OIDC) and experience in designing secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  • Expertise in software architecture, development, and systems testing, with familiarity in No-SQL databases like DynamoDB, functional programming principles (list/map/reduce/compose techniques, monads) and adherence to SDLC, DRY, KISS and SOLID design principles.
  • Solid understanding of scalability, concurrency, distributed systems, and cloud networking, including proxies, with experience in building serverless cloud applications and optimizing performance, scalability and reliability of cloud solutions.
  • Strong technical guidance and decision-making abilities to shape solutions, enforce development best practices, and apply quality gates such as code reviews, pair programming and team review meetings, while collaborating effectively in cross-functional agile teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, mentor junior developers and foster a collaborative, fast-paced team environment using tools like GitHub for version control and code management.
  • Basic knowledge of AI technologies, principles and their practical use.
