Job Role
The Test Manager is responsible for leading Business Acceptance Testing (BAT/UAT) activities across complex business and technology transformation initiatives. Acting as the single point of accountability for testing governance and business acceptance readiness, the role ensures that testing activities are planned, coordinated, executed, and reported in accordance with agreed quality standards and business objectives.
The Test Manager works closely with business stakeholders, SMEs, project teams, and technology partners to drive testing effectiveness, manage risks and defects, and support informed release readiness and acceptance decisions.
What will you do
- Define and maintain the overall test strategy, test approach, governance framework, and quality standards.
- Lead end-to-end Business Acceptance Testing activities across multiple testing cycles and business domains.
- Coordinate and manage testing teams, business SMEs, and key stakeholders throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Ensure appropriate traceability between business requirements, test scenarios, and test outcomes.
- Oversee test planning, execution governance, test coverage monitoring, defect management, and reporting.
- Facilitate defect triage, business impact assessments, prioritization activities, and escalation management.
- Monitor testing risks, issues, dependencies, and entry and exit criteria, ensuring transparency and timely resolution.
- Provide regular status reporting, quality metrics, coverage analysis, and testing insights to project and business leadership.
- Support business acceptance decisions by providing an objective assessment of testing progress, quality indicators, and residual risks.
- Drive release readiness assessments and contribute to go-live recommendations.
- Promote testing best practices, standardization, continuous improvement, and innovation across BAT services.
- Foster collaboration between business and technology teams to ensure high-quality delivery outcomes.
- Effective governance and oversight of Business Acceptance Testing activities.
- High-quality test coverage and traceability of business requirements.
- Timely identification, escalation, and resolution of testing risks and defects.
- Clear and actionable stakeholder reporting and decision support.
- Successful business acceptance and release readiness outcomes.
- Continuous improvement of testing processes, standards, and delivery effectiveness.
What you bring
- Extensive experience in Test Management, UAT Management, Quality Assurance, or related testing leadership roles.
- Proven experience leading testing activities for large-scale business and technology transformation programs.
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, quality assurance practices, and software development lifecycles.
- Experience establishing and managing test governance, reporting, quality controls, and stakeholder communication frameworks.
- Strong understanding of defect management, risk management, and business acceptance processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholder groups across business and IT organizations.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.
You have
- Experience within the insurance industry, particularly Claims, Policy Administration, or related operational domains.
- Knowledge of Business Acceptance Testing operating models and testing governance frameworks.
- Experience with global delivery teams and multi-country implementations.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, and test management tools.
- ISTQB certification or equivalent testing qualification.
