Platform Architect

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Platform Architect to join our team and define  the technical implementation of developments on our data platform. The Platform Architect will play a crucial role in shaping the infrastructure, defining development patterns, and ensuring technical consistency across all deliveries. This position requires a proactive individual who can define technical implementations, work in close collaboration with lead developers, manage various stakeholders, and maintain comprehensive documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Decisions:

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure solutions for the data platform.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools to support platform requirements.

Development Patterns:

• Define and enforce development patterns and best practices to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and consistent code across the platform.
• Collaborate with lead developers to implement these patterns effectively.

Technical Guidance:

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to lead developers and technical teams.
• Ensure alignment of technical strategies with business goals and objectives.

Technical Consistency:

• Oversee technical consistency across all platform deliveries, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and guidelines.
• Conduct regular reviews and audits to maintain quality and performance.

Documentation:

• Create and update comprehensive documentation for platform architecture, infrastructure, and development patterns.
• Ensure documentation is accessible and understandable to all stakeholders.

Stakeholder Interaction:

• Actively engage with various stakeholders, including business leaders, project managers, and technical teams, to gather requirements and provide technical insights.
• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

Team Collaboration:

• Foster a collaborative environment within technical teams to encourage innovation and knowledge sharing.
• Mentor and support team members in their professional development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Platform Architect or similar role, with a focus on data platforms for at least 2 years
• Strong expertise in infrastructure design, cloud technologies, and development patterns.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in documentation and technical writing.
• Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools is a plus.
