About the Job

 

  • Act as expert support in the operations of DW/BI solutions
  • Actively drive standardization and optimization of operation activities
  • Provide production support for data pipelines, working with the platform team, the data suppliers and customers
  • Verification of deployment packages and performance of deployment in integration and production environments
  • Monitor, analyze and report on infrastructure resource requirements and performance issues
  • Improve the process description and keep project documentation up-to-date
  • Enhance program codes and the DevOps automation code (Shell, Groovy, Helm charts, …)
  • Work with the business analysts to fully understand the business requirements for change requests and assure that the deliverables are fulfilling these

 

What you do

 

  • Proficiency in shell scripting languages (Bash, Python, Groovy, Helm chart etc..)
  • Understanding of UNIX permission concept
  • Experienced in analysing script log files
  • Understanding of scheduling mechanisms
  • Understanding of Kubernetes ecosystem
  • Administration of a spark cluster, managing spark nodes, resource allocation, performance analysis, health analysis of cluster
  • Administration of an ElasticSearch cluster, managing cluster nodes, resource allocation, performance analysis, health analysis of cluster
  • Understanding of ElasticSearch Indices, sharding, replica configuration, analysis, health monitoring using Kibana (or similar e.g. Grafana, ElasticHQ)
  • Experienced in continuous improvement of deployment processes
  • Understanding of CICD build tools/pipelines (Jenkins, Nexus, GitHub, Kubernetes, Helm)
  • Strong aptitude and desire to learn new technologies and tools

 

What you bring

 

  • Self-driven with and ability to work closely with business analysts, development and operation teams to work towards quality product rollout
  • Knowledge of SQL queries, experienced in analysing SQL query issues
  • Experience with PostgreSQL (and Oracle DB) administration
  • Experience in at least one reporting/OLAP tool such as Microstrategy, PowerBI
  • Understanding, analysing Scala program code running on Spark, e.g. understanding Scala stack traces
  • Understanding of the concept of container orchestration and platforms, e.g. Kubernetes
  • Understanding REST/API mechanisms (here: Interaction between CICD and scheduling components)
  • Knowledge of key management (e.g. Azure Keyvault), analysing issues related to certificates, secrets, keys-
  • German language skills are a plus
