HR Manager - Egypt
Cairo, EG
Egypt is becoming an increasingly important hub within our wider MEA strategy, with operations set to scale. That creates a real opportunity, and a real challenge.
We’re looking for an HR / People & Culture Manager who can run the day-to-day, handle complexity, and raise the bar.
You’ll partner directly with the local MD and leadership team, owning HR delivery end-to-end, from employee relations and labour law to engagement, operations, and team leadership. Just as importantly, you’ll help bring structure, consistency, and maturity into an environment that needs it.
Alongside this, you’ll operate in a function increasingly shaped by data, analytics, and AI-enabled tools, using insight to drive better decisions, improve employee experience, and make HR delivery more effective.
This role suits someone who is hands-on, proactive, and comfortable stepping into ambiguity and making things better.
What You Do
At its core, this role is about owning HR on the ground in Egypt — end to end.
You’re the person the business turns to. Day-to-day, that means making sure everything works, from HR operations and payroll through to policies, processes, and the full employee lifecycle. There’s no hiding behind structure here; you are the one ensuring HR delivery is consistent, credible, and aligned to how the business actually operates.
A big part of the role is navigating the reality of employee relations. You’ll be hands-on in managing complex cases, disciplinary, grievance, and sensitive people issues, while acting as the local expert on Egyptian labour law. You’ll work directly with external bodies and government stakeholders, balancing compliance with practical business needs.
At the same time, you’ll sit side-by-side with the Local MD and leadership team as a true advisor. This isn’t about enforcing policy, it’s about helping leaders make better decisions. That means bringing clear thinking, local market insight, and the confidence to challenge where needed.
You’ll also play a visible role in how the business feels to work in. Driving engagement isn’t about surveys alone, it’s about following through, building trust, and creating a culture where people feel supported and managers know how to lead.
Where things don’t work, you’ll fix them. There will be processes that are unclear, inconsistent, or simply not fit for purpose, and part of your value is bringing structure, standardisation, and practicality. You’ll use data and insight where it helps, but more importantly, you’ll apply sound judgement to improve how HR operates day-to-day.
You won’t do this alone. You’ll lead and develop the local HR team, raising capability, accountability, and overall performance. The goal is to build a team that the business respects — one that can operate confidently and independently, not just administratively.
And increasingly, you’ll do all of this in an environment shaped by data, technology, and AI-enabled tools. You’ll use these to make better decisions, improve efficiency, and enhance the employee experience — while maintaining strong standards around data governance, security, and ethical use.
Put simply, this is a role for someone who can step into a complex environment, take ownership, and make it work better, quickly and credibly.
What You Bring
- Strong experience in generalist HR leadership within Egypt
- Proven track record managing employee relations, labour law, and compliance
- Experience partnering with senior business leaders and influencing decisions
- Hands-on ownership of HR operations and delivery, not just strategy
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-moving, evolving, or imperfect environments
- Experience building or improving HR team capability
- Comfort using data, systems, and digital tools to support decision-making
- Strong judgement, resilience, and ability to handle pressure
- Experience in multinational or matrix organisations preferred
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
Why This Role
This is a role where you can make a visible difference.
- There is real scope to shape how HR operates locally
- You will partner directly with senior leadership
- You will work in a business that is growing, evolving, and investing in technology and AI
- You’ll have the opportunity to fix, improve, and build, not just maintain
We’re not looking for someone to manage HR.
We’re looking for someone who can bring clarity, structure, and credibility into a complex environment, and use insight, data, and modern tools to make it work better.
