As Business Development Manager, Broker Channel in Ontario Canada you will work with assigned accounts to manage day-to-day activities, growth revenue, and ensure profitability in the broker channel. Proactively identify opportunities for growth and work with internal and external stakeholders to drive growth initiatives. Drive additional revenue growth by identifying other new business opportunities
This is a remote-based position focused on building a local sales base and meeting directly with clients across the province. To facilitate this, the qualified candidate must currently reside in Ontario, Canada, as the role requires travel within the province for client meetings, business development, and sales opportunities

What you will do
- Grow net new business:
- Attend partner and industry events, and stay up to date on industry developments to identify opportunities for new business
- Continuously grow pipeline of new business opportunities
- Nurture and develop leads that fit with existing book of partners
- Manage assigned accounts within the broker channel:
- Provide and advocate for best-in-class service for partner accounts, ensuring their requests are dealt with in a timely manner and with quality customer service
- Oversee regular check-ins and performance reviews
- Build relationships and develop an intimate understanding of the partners’ business and related needs
- Facilitate partner on-site and/or remote visits and training sessions, including product and systems training, directly with partner advisors or in a train-the-trainer model with partner operations teams
- Oversee partner renewals and assess sales against performance targets
- Work with internal teams to ensure processes are in place to maintain the business (eg. finance, compliance, licensing, learning & development)
- Grow assigned accounts:
- Work with partners to identify opportunities for additional revenue
- Build business cases to prioritize and implement new revenue generating opportunities
- Identify other upsell and cross-sell opportunities related to partners’ business
What you will Bring
- College Diploma/Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience; with background in business management and/or sales and marketing
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in face-to-face sales account/client management preferably in the insurance industry.
- Must currently reside in Ontario, Canada
- Outbound sales experience
- Knowledge and understanding of industry, market, client, business development trends.
- Knowledge of innovative client management, sales and business development strategies, and demonstrated ability to achieve ambitious goals.
- Demonstrated success with creative problem solving, consensus building and managing diverse interpersonal relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to acquire new opportunities from cold status. Demonstrated ability to drive client retention and growth.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of individuals at varying levels.
- Excellent presentation skills and good working knowledge of MS PowerPoint.
- Good working knowledge of MS Teams
- Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for assigned tasks and shows initiative to suggest improvements to processes and procedures.
- Experience with sales and CRM systems (eg. SalesForce) an asset
- Must have a valid drivers license in good standing with reliable transportatio
Travel Expectation: 50% within Ontario and occasional travel to other Provinces
