The primary purpose of this role is to provide technical claims management advice and collaborative consultation, including expertise in Pre-Injury Average Weekly Earnings (PIAWE) calculations, to ensure prompt and compliant claims finalisation in line with regulatory obligations   

 

About the role

  • Work with other Technical Specialists and managers in ensuring the effective management of claims and advocate the use of alternate strategies as required to progress the claim towards timely finalisation.
  • Provide appropriate technical input, advice and support as required to claims staff across NI and TMF to ensure the accurate interpretation of the relevant legislation and accurate calculation and re calculation of PIAWE.
  • Work closely with the Managers and Claims Managers to ensure that the team manages all claims in accordance with legislative requirements and common law practice.
  • Make decisions and provide advice in line with NSW workers compensation legislation and Allianz policies and delegations referring to appropriate references and seeking assistance where necessary.
  • Complete and or co-ordinate any PIAWE and or Indexation remediation tasks/projects in accordance with set processes and within required timeframes
  • Assist with the development and distribution of any PIAWE related reporting that can assist with performance uplift and improvements
  • Provide advice and support in the management of any contractual requirements related to PIAWE and or Indexation

About you

  • Have at least 5 years’ experience managing technical and or PIAWE related matters within NSW Workers Compensation.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, combined with the ability to balance understanding, empathy, and compassion with the best commercial outcome for Allianz.
  • Able to work collaboratively with peers and a variety of stakeholders.
  • Act as an SME, experience in coaching and mentoring others.
  • Able to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands, displaying leadership through role modelling and encouraging these behaviours in others.
  • Able to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights, and evaluate options for decision making, providing coaching and support to facilitate the development of these skills in others.
  • A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
