Job Purpose

We are looking for a Chief Investment Officer to join our company. The job holder will lead Allianz Greece's investment function, with accountability for investment strategy, asset allocation, ALM, liquidity management, investment governance, and portfolio performance. This person will be responsible for maximizing risk-adjusted investment returns while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, capital efficiency objectives, and Allianz Group investment standards.

The role reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

 

What you will do

  • Develop and implement the Company's investment strategy across all investment portfolios, ensuring alignment with business, capital, and solvency objectives
  • Lead strategic asset allocation (SAA), asset-liability management (ALM), and liquidity management processes
  • Oversee the management of fixed income, equity, alternative investments, cash, and other asset classes to achieve target risk-adjusted returns
  • Manage relationships with external asset managers, custodians, investment consultants, rating agencies, and banking partners
  • Ensure compliance with Solvency II, local regulatory requirements, Allianz Group standards, and internal investment governance
  • Align asset portfolios with the company's liability profiles, liquidity, and capital position. Manage the company's daily liquidity and prepare liquidity forecasts.
  • Monitor financial markets, macroeconomic developments, and emerging investment opportunities to support informed decision-making
  • Provide investment recommendations to the CFO, Investment Committee, Board of Directors, and Group stakeholders
  • Oversee investment risk management, stress testing, scenario analysis, and capital efficiency initiatives
  • Drive investment performance monitoring, reporting, and forecasting while ensuring transparency and accountability
  • Support corporate strategic initiatives, including M&A transactions, capital optimization, and treasury-related activities

 

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or other related field, and CFA certificate. Master’s degree is considered an asset
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in similar positions within the financial sector, including 2-3 years of leadership experience in investment functions
  • Proven track record in managing large, diversified investment portfolios and delivering sustainable investment performance
  • Deep understanding of Solvency II, IFRS, insurance balance sheet management, and investment regulations.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, strategic decision-making capabilities and analytical skills
  • Basic familiarity with available AI tools
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including active listening and consultancy ability
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment
  • High technical fluency in Greek and English
