We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Legal and Technical Lead, based in our Darwin office.

 

About the role  

You will be responsible for overseeing the management of common law claims and providing technical and strategic advice on complex, high profile and litigated claims.

 

  • Provide specialised support and advice to the TIO MAC business in relation to claims with legal involvement including complex, high profile, litigated NT claims and common law claims.
  • Provide instructions to panel solicitors.
  • Act as an escalation point within the authority matrix to review and provide guidance on claims management decisions, as required.
  • Coach and assist TIO MAC staff in relation to claims with legal involvement including complex, high profile litigated NT claims and common law claims.
  • Assist in managing the NT legal and common law portfolios to ensure expeditious resolution of claims, as needed.
  • Oversee the performance of the panel solicitors including tracking performance and undertaking reviews as required.
  • Contribute to claim reviews as required to ensure that sound strategies are developed to drive positive outcomes, claim finalisation, and prevent escalation, where possible.

 

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and industry accreditations, where necessary.
  • Experience managing complex legal claims within a heavily regulated related industry.
  • Experience of working in a customer service role with strong technical knowledge and proven Compulsory Third Party (CTP) experience.
  • Ability to make independent as well as collaborative decisions during expected or unexpected situations and then taking responsibility for the consequences of decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders to establish strong professional relationships and influence outcomes
  • A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
