About the role
Working closely with the Manager for Claims, the primary purpose of this role is to lead and develop a team of technical specialists to provide technical expertise to claims managers to managers to administer claims managements services to Motor Accidents Compensations Commission in the Northern Territory, pursuant to the MACC Management Agreement and associated service levels. The role involves oversight on key service levels to ensure best practice claims management is delivered across the MACC portfolio.
- Assist the Manager, Claims and other members of the leadership team to drive performance uplift across the business by identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing strategies that result in superior claims management
- Lead a team of specialists in supporting the technical proficiency of claims teams by providing advice, coaching, and support
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational controls and claim outcomes, supporting the business aims of process improvement and establishing best practice in delivering claims management under the MACC Scheme.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, team members, regulators, and other key stakeholders, providing exemplary customer service that meets the needs of internal and external customers
- Lead initiatives and projects as required to support the technical and strategic objectives of the business
- Support liability and technical management objectives by ensuring that all decisions are sound and made in a timely manner, in accordance with the legislation and quality decision making frameworks
- Contribute to the engagement levels of our teams by role modelling the appropriate behaviours and by participating and engaging others in business decisions
About you
- Extensive technical expertise and claims management experience in Workers Compensation or Personal Injury claims management
- Comprehensive knowledge of applicable legislation and regulation requirements.
- Ability to lead an effective and collaborative team to achieve business objectives
- Technical proficiency with relevant systems, software, and communication tools
- Ability to build effective relationships internally and externally with customers, government, and/or regulator representatives and service providers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact, and influence
- A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape
