 Overall Objectives of job

Database Operations  Manager would be responsible to Lead the DBA team and Project deliveries, which include environment, build, application deployment, application patching/release, and release migration activities as part of life cycle. Also in addition, housekeeping & troubleshooting of the issues with respect to infrastructure (like database instances, oracle application server instances, Unix/Linux servers – used to host database, OAS), is also part of the responsibilities. Individuals are expected to provide proactive support like performance monitoring, tuning advices, interaction with development team to improve the applications performance/ resolve issues. They are also expected to provide guidance and direction to the team towards resolution of issues.

Duties and responsibilities

• Oracle & PostgreSQL Administration: Manage, administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle and PostgreSQL database environments, ensuring high availability, reliability, and optimal performance.
• WebLogic Administration: Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and support Oracle WebLogic environments to ensure stable application hosting and middleware operations.
• Performance Tuning and Optimization: Perform database and SQL performance tuning, analyze bottlenecks, optimize resources, and improve overall application and database responsiveness.
• RAC and High Availability: Manage Oracle RAC infrastructure and implement high availability solutions to provide resilient database services.
• Infrastructure Planning: Work closely with business and development teams to plan, design, and implement database and middleware infrastructure changes across pre-production and production environments.
• Application Team Collaboration: Engage with application teams to understand requirements and provision database and middleware infrastructure aligned with business needs.
• Upgrade and Migration Activities: Lead database, application server, and infrastructure upgrades, migrations, server rebuilds, and technology refresh initiatives.
• People Management and Leadership: Lead, mentor, coach, and develop DBA and middleware teams while supporting hiring, onboarding, skill development, and performance management activities.
• Governance, Documentation, and Compliance: Ensure implementation standards, documentation, ISMS compliance, audit requirements, and operational procedures are implemented and followed across projects and BAU operations.
• Incident, Change, and Problem Management: Drive resolution of critical incidents, manage change implementation, perform root cause analysis, and ensure service stability.

Qualification, Experience, Technical and Functional Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline
• 15+ years of Database Administration and Team Management experience
• Oracle Database Administration experience across enterprise environments
• ITIL Foundation Certification (Preferred)
• Oracle/PostgreSQL Certifications (Preferred)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Leadership and stakeholder management experience
