The Opportunity
As a member of the Board of Management, the Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) for Allianz plc will oversee the development and implementation of strategies to support the Innovation and Transformation Pillar Objectives. The successful candidate will exercise strategic, operational, and functional management for Transformation Management, IT Product, Data Analytics & AI, and Data Protection. The CTO will also be responsible for the operation of Agile structures and work practices, to support implementation of strategy objectives.
Reporting to and working closely with the CEO, the CTO will:
- Champion Organisational Transformation: Lead and shape the overall transformation efforts of Allianz Ireland, ensuring functional alignment between strategy, capabilities, and processes to drive business growth and innovation. Support definition/execution of corporate strategy in line with the expectations of AZ Group and the Board of Directors
- Align and integrate Group Strategies: Execute Allianz Group's transformation strategies within Allianz Ireland, establishing local strategies and policies that comply with local laws and regulations.
- Drive Innovation Culture: Play a leadership role in driving strategic innovation through experimentation, culture change and championing key innovation programmes and initiatives that create value for customers, shareholders, and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a comprehensive transformation vision that aligns with Allianz's business strategy and long-term goals, ensuring successful execution across all business units.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in Allianz SE Group to execute transformation strategies and report, track, and monitor progress, utilizing data-driven insights to assess the effectiveness of transformation initiatives.
- Execution of the Strategy Roadmap, ensuring IT and digital product development is fully aligned with organizational strategy. Drive collaboration and commitment to the successful execution of the Strategy roadmap.
- Ensure optimal utilisation of key business expertise and resources essential for successful transformation delivery. Remove any barriers to innovation, integrating systems thinking approaches, and promoting agile delivery methods.
- Embed agile delivery of initiatives/projects and ensure the projects undertaken realise the maximum business value using appropriate measurement methodologies.
- Ensure alignment among leadership for transformation initiatives, driving transformation efforts and challenging senior leadership to deliver results for customers.
- Lead and manage the implementation of data strategies of the Group and of Allianz Ireland. Drive our responsible AI innovation locally to dive competitive advantage, empower our people, improve speed and customer excellence, and data transparency and compliance.
- Lead and manage the strategic direction of Data Analytics, leveraging data insights to support transformation and drive data informed decision-making across the organization.
- Establish robust Data Protection protocols to ensure the security and integrity of information, implementing comprehensive protection and resilience measures to safeguard organisational assets.
- Oversee the responsible integration and management of AI technologies, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and data privacy regulations.
Key Requirements / Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Minimum of 10 years of Change Management or Transformation experience, with a significant focus on operational and technical transformation and innovation.
- Relevant third-level qualification in a related discipline, or an equivalent recognised qualification within the EU.
- Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to analyse and quantify complex strategic issues related to long-term business growth.
- Advanced skills in project/programme management, with the ability to execute effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple, rapidly changing, and conflicting priorities.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, including the development, empowerment, and engagement of direct reports and cross-functional project teams.
- Willingness and ability to learn from experience and subsequently apply that learning to perform successfully under new or first-time situations.
Desirable:
- Demonstrated senior management experience in Insurance or Financial Services.
- Experience of managing and overseeing 3rd party or outsourced service providers
