About the role
The Actuarial Intern Student will work in the Allianz Partners H&L Actuarial department and will assist team managers in a variety of practice areas including Management Reporting and Reserving. This position interfaces with all of the major departments within the business and is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable insights into the workings of a global health insurer.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Management Reporting

- Assist in the production of regulatory, management and client reports and presentations
- Participate in cross-departmental analysis for ongoing business support
- Analysis of the overall portfolio
Reserving and Experience Analysis
-
- Enhancement of the Company’s reserving systems
- Interrogation of company database for answers to interesting questions
- Provision of comprehensive experience analysis to enable the Company to develop a deep understanding of the emerging experience by: client; sales region; geographical territory; distribution channel and product line.

- Assist in the development and automation of the reporting function
AI readiness Work effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data, analytics and cloud-based tools, using insights responsibly with our standards of data governance, security and ethical use.
What you will bring
Essential
- Excellent analytical skills and a high attention to detail
- Strong time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and resolve complex problems without direct supervision
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complicated processes and concepts to non-experts
- Reasonably experienced in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Desirable
- Experience in database interrogation and the construction of database queries
- Foreign language capabilities
- Knowledge of Visual Basic, MS Access and SQL
