The role

 

The Operations Data Governance Specialist is responsible for the operational implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of the Data Governance framework across the Global Data and Analytics Team for Health Operating Entities including Allianz Care, Nextcare, Medi-24, Mawista and Australia Students, as well as across operational departments.
The role supports the Data Governance Manager by ensuring that governance policies, data standards, controls, and documentation are consistently applied across the organization. The position focuses on the day-to-day governance management of key data processes including KPI governance, audit coordination, access governance, stakeholder approvals, and governance documentation.
The Data Governance Specialist acts as a central point of coordination for governance activities between business stakeholders, reporting teams, IT, and compliance functions to ensure that data governance standards are implemented effectively and that regulatory, audit, and data protection requirements are met.
The role also supports the Operations Data Governance Manager and Operations Data Managers in ensuring that reporting, analytics, and operational data initiatives align with the established governance framework and global data standards..

 

What you will do

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Support the implementation and ongoing management of the Global Data Governance Framework across Global Health Operating Entities.
  • Ensure that data governance policies, standards, and procedures are applied consistently across reporting, analytics, and operational data processes.
  • Act as the primary coordinator for Data Governance audit topics including preparation, documentation, and management of remediation actions.
  • Manage and track audit findings, governance recommendations, and performance improvement action plans to ensure timely resolution and compliance.
  • Maintain governance documentation and evidence required for internal and external audits.
  • Manage and maintain the Global KPI Index ensuring consistent KPI definitions, ownership, calculation logic, and data sources across reporting environments.
  • Maintain and update the KPI Handbook to ensure all KPIs are governed by clear definitions and standardized methodologies
  • Ensure alignment and consistency between business reporting outputs and the established governance standards.
  • Manage and coordinate data access governance processes including access requests, approval workflows, and documentation of stakeholder sign-offs.
  • Ensure appropriate access controls and governance procedures are followed for data platforms and reporting environments.
  • Maintain governance records related to access approvals, governance decisions, and stakeholder sign-offs.
  • Support Data Managers and reporting teams in ensuring that reporting solutions and data usage adhere to governance standards.
  • Maintain and manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and governance documentation related to data governance processes.
  • Ensure governance documentation is kept up to date and aligned with enterprise data management Strictly Confidential
    standards and DAMA best practices.
  • Coordinate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and reporting teams to ensure governance requirements are understood and implemented.
  • Support monitoring of data quality issues and work with relevant stakeholders to ensure proper tracking and resolution of data integrity issues affecting reporting.
  • Maintain governance tracking logs including audit action tracking, access governance documentation, and governance approval records.
  • Provide governance updates and reporting to the Data Governance Manager and relevant governance committees.
  • Support governance committee activities including preparation of governance documentation, reports, and follow-up actions.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and internal governance policies to minimize regulatory and operational risk.

 

What you need

To be successful in this position you will need to have the following skills/ experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Data Management, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience working in Data Governance, Data Analytics, Reporting, Data Management, or related roles.
  • Experience working with governance frameworks, compliance environments, or regulatory data controls is an advantage.
  • Experience managing audit topics, governance documentation, or compliance-related activities is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles including data ownership, data stewardship, data standards, and data quality management.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices in data management such as DAMA frameworks is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain governance documentation and ensure compliance with governance standards.
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple governance processes simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across different business functions and locations.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively manage governance responsibilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify governance gaps and propose practical solutions.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office and Informatica(IDMC) products; familiarity with Power BI, SQL, or reporting tools is considered an advantage.
  • Full English proficiency is required.
