In order to support the ambitious growth & profitability targets, Allianz Partners has launched an initiative to enhance our data analytics and AI capabilities. As part of this initiative a team is developing state-of-the-art data-driven solutions across Health Line of business, especially focusing on the underwriting area, in close cooperation with the respective subject matter experts. We are looking for a data scientist with high expertise in data analytics and in machine learning.
What you do
- Utilize your expertise in Python, SQL, and relevant data science libraries to analyze and manipulate data effectively
- Build and optimize data and analytics pipelines, with a focus on scalability and efficiency
- Apply state-of-the-art data science methodologies and machine learning techniques to solve complex business problems, in particular in Underwriting and Pricing Area
- Develop and maintain advanced PowerBI dashboards and reports using DAX functions and complex data modeling
- Develop, test and deploy models of analytical work to production environment utilizing GitHub and established workflows for version control, collaboration, and code management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable business strategies
- Communicate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear and concise presentations.
- Meet project deadlines and deliverables with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy
- Prospectively:
- Explore the use of LLMs in underwriting and pricing
- Leveraging cloud platforms like AWS or Azure to manage and analyze large datasets.
- AI Readiness Work effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data, analytics and cloud-based tools, using insights responsibly with our standards of data governance, security and ethical use.
What you bring

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, including experience with popular frameworks such as tensorflow, , PyTorch, sklearn, and SQLAlchemy.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerBI including complex DAX formula creation and optimization, data modeling and relationship management, custom visualizations and dashboard design
- Proficiency in SQL and, ideally also, NoSQL databases.
- Experience with GitHub and established workflows for version control and collaboration.
- Strong understanding of machine learning (ML) and statistical techniques, with a track record of developing and ideally deploying ML models.
- Knowledge of deep learning and neural networks
- Willingness to take over responsibility, develop concepts and drive models into implementation.
- Experience in working with agile methodologies in a fast-paced, dynamic, and international environment.
- Intercultural sensitivity and international experience.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills (i.e., communication, presentation, and negotiation also with non-technical audiences).
- Previous experience in an (health) insurance industry
- Ability to drive projects with various business stakeholders independently
Additionally preferred qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based ML platforms (Azure ML, AWS SageMaker, Google AI Platform)
- Familiarity with MLOps practices and model deployment
- Understanding of the LLMs concepts and their application
