The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A).
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in expense management, business partnering, and extensive experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry.
This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and strong stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer the Head of FP&A will be responsible for:
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Lead the development and execution of financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
- Analyse financial results and provide insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and performance tracking.
- Support the CFO and business stakeholders with business cases and financial recommendations
Expense Management:
- Oversee expense management strategies to optimize cost efficiency and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Implement and monitor expense control measures and provide recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
Business Partnering:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, providing guidance on financial implications of business decisions.
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Irish business and within the Allianz Group to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Insurance P&C Expertise:
- Utilize deep knowledge of the P&C insurance industry to inform financial strategies and decisions.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to ensure proactive financial planning.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing FP&A team.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the finance department.
Key Requirements / Skills & Experience
Essential:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field

Accounting qualification ACA, ACCA, CIMA

Proven experience in financial planning and analysis, with a focus on expense management and business partnering.

Extensive experience in the P&C insurance industry is required.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.

Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and foster a collaborative and high performing environment

Proficiency in financial modelling and analysis tools.
