The Opportunity

 

The Risk Management Function (RMF) in Allianz Ireland is dedicated to supporting the business by working with them to deliver the best possible solutions for the management, control and mitigation of risks. More specifically, it is responsible for the maintenance of the company’s comprehensive risk management system and control system assuming perspectives of independent risk oversight and of the business strategy.

 

Reporting to the Head of Operational Risk, the Operational Risk Analyst is an integral part of an experienced Risk Management team, comprised of risk professionals with diverse areas of expertise. It has responsibility for operational risk management, focusing particularly on internal controls and governance. This will involve close collaboration with colleagues from across the business.

 

The role will also support other qualitative and quantitative deliverables of the RMF including the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA).

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Ongoing maintenance and development of risk and control tools, processes and reporting to support the operational risk management and internal control frameworks of the company
  • Participating in and supporting assessment workshops and risk and control identification
  • Control testing and mitigation plan monitoring
  • Oversight and analysis of operational loss events
  • Coordination of quarterly risk reporting as Secretary for the Management and Board Risk Committees
  • Responsibility for the timely production of relevant internal risk reports (e.g., to the Risk Committees and Board)
  • Form strong partnerships across the organization to establish joint objectives, facilitate open communications, leverage resources, and share information to ensure the effectiveness of risk management

 

 

 

Key Requirements / Skills & Experience

 

Essential:

 

  • Previous operational risk management, risk analytics, or Risk Champion experience, ideally within financial services
  • Working knowledge (3+ years’ experience) in operational areas of financial services sector
  • Demonstrated understanding of operational risk management, internal control processes and risk management and control techniques

 

Desirable:

 

  • A relevant third level degree/qualification
  • Knowledge of the general insurance market and products
  • Experience in working with financial regulation relating to general insurance, e.g. Audit, Compliance
  • Experience in cross functional teams or projects is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
  • At Allianz Ireland, we are committed to staying at the forefront of technological advancements.
