Allianz Re Dublin dac (ARD) is a key subsidiary of Allianz Re and plays a vital role in supporting Allianz Re's global reinsurance operations. Its primary functions include underwriting reinsurance business, managing risk transfer, and optimizing capital efficiency for the Group.
We are seeking a part qualified actuarial professional to join our actuarial team. The position is organisationally located in Dublin with its main focus being to play an integrated role in the global actuarial function of Allianz Re, whilst maintaining a special focus on areas of relevance for Allianz Re Dublin dac.
Role Summary
The position will report to the Head of Actuarial Function of Allianz Re Dublin dac. The role will involve all aspects of the quarterly and annual actuarial reserving and Solvency II reporting processes. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including finance and underwriting, to ensure the accurate valuation of insurance liabilities and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the quarterly calculation of reserves and Technical Provisions across various valuation basis (e.g. GAAP, Solvency II, IFRS 17)
- Preparation and validation of Solvency II QRTs
- Develop and maintain documentation in line with changes in reserving approaches, emerging best practice and changing regulatory environment.
- Support the Head of Actuarial Function in the preparation of Actuarial Function deliverables and fulfilling reporting responsibilities covering Solvency II.
- Support automation and process improvement initiatives for production workflows across the future global reserving / Technical Provision process
Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
- Part-qualified actuary with 2 – 5 years’ experience in an actuarial reserving or reporting role
- Strong understanding of Solvency II framework, particularly Technical Provisions and MVBS
- Experience with QRT preparation and submission to the Central Bank of Ireland
- Strong Excel/SQL/Access skills, SAS and ResQ experience an advantage
- Ability to communicate effectively and work under time pressure to meet deadlines, while retaining attention to detail
- Ability to work as a team player within a global multi-cultural team environment
- Advanced command of written and spoken English is required
