The Opportunity

 

Allianz plc in Ireland (AZI) are delivering an ambitious digitisation and transformation strategy, building on our brand and expertise to deliver truly customer-centric service through our Product Management function. As we continue to evolve this capability, we have an opportunity for a number of business analysts to join our expanding team.

 

As a key part of the transformation strategy, the Business Analyst will support our Product Managers and our Head of Product and to shape and capture requirements to enable delivery of our strategic IT digitalisation roadmap.

 

The Business Analyst will participate in delivering working software for Allianz Ireland through understanding, complementing, improving and documenting all business requirements and dependencies.

 

The Business Analyst will also have responsibility for the delivery of specific smaller features on the product backlog, with the opportunity to grow, learn and progress within the product management team.

 

The role will involve supporting multiple agile IT development squads across the Retail and Commercial programmes.  

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders and subject matter experts to clearly and effectively elicit, validate and document feature requirements in user stories
  • Leverage their knowledge of existing systems and processes to help validate new business requirements and to identify the potential impact of new requirements on existing capabilities and processes
  • To work closely with product managers and Allianz Technology to refine and groom user stories and tasks for development activities
  • Lead agile delivery of specific small projects and features on the product backlog with a desire to grow and develop their own product management skills and capabilities
  • Knowledge transfer and training of existing business systems and domain knowledge for both Allianz Ireland and Allianz Technology to narrow the knowledge gaps on business processes and systems
  • Collaborate with product managers in the governance and delivery of strategic projects
  • Candidate should above all want to improve the experience of all of our customers (including our partners and internal stakeholders)

 

 

Key Requirements / Skills & Experience

 

Essential:

  • Prior experience as a business analyst, an agile product owner role or a role requiring understanding of agile processes and delivery
  • Strong work ethic with a focus on delivering customer value and promoting cross-team collaboration with the personal drive to “own” the business problems and the proposed solutions
  • Previous extensive practical experience with software development methodologies to deliver IT projects, with experience of both internally built systems and internal external 3rd party software systems.
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas: Microservices, SQL and database knowledge, REST, integration patterns with existing systems (e.g. I90)
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge and balance multiple priorities

 

 

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Data Analytics / AI technologies, principles, and their practical use.
  • Experience with business systems (i.e. I90 - Insure/90) and supporting systems (e.g. Tibco, ISIS, intermediary integrations) in a development or business support role, across a range of business functions (retail, commercial, claims)
  • Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence to manage and deliver projects.
