The Opportunity
As part of the Corporate Risks Team, you will join a group of experienced liability technical experts who underwrite liability, construction, combined and multinational business across all commercial sectors.
Working proactively & supporting the Team Underwriters & working with , Broker partners and Allianz Business Development Executives, Portfolio Team & Allianz Global offices you will be required to underwrite and service a portfolio of renewals and potential new business opportunities that are aligned to our risk appetite. One of your main priorities will be servicing our multinational business, ensuring that we meet our SLAs & assist in growing multinational business.
Key Responsibilities:

Profitably underwrite liability, construction, combined and multinational renewals and new business to achieve GWP targets for all sectors.

Manage and develop multinational liability renewals and new business with our Global Allianz branches and develop relationships in the multinational underwriting area. Meeting the SLA standards will be key

Oversee the end to end customer outcome of allocated renewals and new business submissions aligned to target KPI’s

Foster and leverage relationships with key brokers

Develop and maintain strong working relationships within the team, other areas of the business and external stakeholders
-
Balance speed of turnaround with technical requirements of the role to deliver on Business Development team targets including renewal retention and conversion

Engage with internal stakeholders in Sales and Distribution, Pricing and Portfolio management to negotiate terms on renewals and conduct detailed risk assessment and acceptance within existing Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) framework agreements

Share knowledge and technical expertise with colleagues, contribute to personal and team technical development

Identify and implement improvements in process, proposition or service to best serve our customer base
Key Requirements / Skills & Experience
Essential:
-
A minimum 2 years’ experience in ‘underwriting’ commercial insurance
-
A recognised insurance qualification (APA, CIP, ACII or FCII)
-
A proven track record in writing commercial liability business
-
Experience in growth, achieving targets, technical underwriting
Desirable:
-
Knowledge of combined and Property commercial products
-
Experience in a commercial underwriting role in commercial or general insurance
-
Familiarity with I/90
-
Proven track record in terms of meeting challenging underwriting targets
-
Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word and Salesforce
-
Evidence of having providing exceptional customer service in previous roles
