The role

 

Carry out diagnosis, monitoring and forecasts of economic trends for the region in charge and contribute to ad-hoc research (with a focus on trade and non-payment), both for internal (strategic, commercial and risk decisions) and external (brand awareness) purposes. 
Coordinate analytical reports, act as the liaison person for the region s/he is in charge, and represent Allianz Trade to clients, partners and media.
Develop econometric models and be able to work with large datasets. 

 

Main Tasks

 

  • Ensure thorough monitoring of economic trends in the region of charge to better inform commercial and risk decisions (maintain database, update forecasts, country risk model and respond to internal clients)
  • Deliver quality knowledge products on economic developments and country risks for the region in charge to leverage Allianz Trade outreach (write analytical and reactive reports on hot topics and key trends and make presentations to clients, prospects and the media)
  • Coordinate innovative research and develop new tools to enrich the analysis with strong modelling on inflation, impact of monetary policy normalization, labor markets, trade, infrastructure...
  • Suggest themes for developing the knowledge lines of the economic research department and help develop content on the key Allianz Trade topics for the 2025 strategy (TCI potential, surety, specialty credit...). 
  • Lead analytical thinking and foster collaboration with commercial and risk teams at Group- and regional level. 

 

Profile

 

  • Strong econometrical skills
  • Strong analytical writing, and excellent presentation skills in English and French. Spanish and/or Italian/German are nice-to-have.
  • Proven analytical thinking and track record in leading and delivering high quality research on macroeconomic forecasting and country risk analysis
  • Good knowledge of MS Office suite, in particular Excel and PPT.
  • Good knowledge of economic data providers (Refinitiv/Datastream, Bloomberg) and modelling software (e.g. Eviews, Python, R, Stata)
