Business Process Engineer Third-Party Risk Management (f/m/d)

The Business Process Engineer for Third-Party Risk Management is responsible for designing, optimizing, and continuously improving the end-to-end processes that support the identification, assessment, monitoring, and management of third-party (vendor, supplier, outsourcing) risk across the organization.
The role bridges risk management requirements with operational execution, translating regulatory and policy requirements (e.g., DORA, outsourcing guidelines) into efficient, scalable, and auditable workflows.
This role will be based in Frankfurt.
What you will do
- Process Design & Optimization: Map, analyse, and redesign TPRM lifecycle processes (onboarding, due diligence, risk assessment, contracting, ongoing monitoring, offboarding) to improve efficiency, consistency, and control effectiveness
- Workflow & Tooling: design and implement defined TPRM workflow in the Sourcing & Procurement ServiceNow Platform. Configure, enhance, and maintain workflow tools (e.g. ServiceNow, Databricks) that support process execution and data capture
- Align and harmonize the Procurement and TPRM workflows as an integrated workflow
- Requirements Translation: Work with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Procurement to translate regulatory obligations (such as DORA ICT third-party risk requirements) and internal policy into operational process steps and control points as part of the workflow
- Documentation & Governance: Create and maintain process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), RACI matrices, and control documentation; ensure processes are inventoried and governed per internal EUC/process governance standards
- Reporting: Define and track process KPIs/KRIs (e.g., cycle times, SLA adherence, backlog, exception rates) to support management reporting and continuous improvement
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between TPRM, business units, IT, Procurement, and second-line risk functions to ensure process changes are understood, adopted, and sustainable
- Change Management: Lead process changes initiatives, including impact assessment, testing, training, and rollout of new or revised procedures
- AI and Continuous Improvement: Identify automation opportunities (e.g., Multi AI Agent orchestration, workflow automation, questionnaire logic, risk scoring rules) and work with relevant teams to implement them, subject to governance and review requirements
- Quality & Control: Support internal audit, regulatory exam, and quality assurance activities by ensuring processes are well-documented, consistently applied, and evidenced
- RUN & Governance Responsibility: Ensure the Oversight and RUN activities for the Third-Party Risk Management team
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in business process engineering, process improvement, or operations roles, ideally within financial services or asset management
- Prior exposure to Third-Party Risk Management, vendor management, outsourcing oversight, or operational risk is highly desirable
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, BPMN) and process mapping tools
- Understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., DORA, EBA/ESMA outsourcing guidelines) is a plus
- Experience with GRC or TPRM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Archer, OneTrust, or similar) or Databricks preferred
- Being a team player
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proactive and client-centric approach, combining diplomacy and assertiveness
- Proficiency in English required, further languages would be highly helpful, German is a plus
- AI Skills such as Microsoft Copilot, Feature Engineering, Data Engineering
