Role Summary
The “Senior Development Manager (m/f/d) – International” oversees and executes high-profile commercial and mixed-use development projects across Europe. This person plays a pivotal role in repositioning and future-proofing of assets, combining technical expertise, strategic vision, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver outstanding results.
This is a high-impact position with international exposure and coverage, offering the opportunity to shape landmark projects and directly contribute to the growth and transformation of a globally respected real estate platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Elaborate, prepare and present redevelopment strategies and scenarios to relevant internal & external stakeholders
- Drive the product redefinition process, aligning development plans with market trends investor goals and tenant dynamics.
- Steer the feasibility studies, design development and manage the approval of administrative authorizations according to defined delivery structure.
- Lead collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to conclude contractual agreements with planners, developers, external project managers, specialized consultants and tenants.
- Coordinate and manage project execution (direct supervision of general planner, via external project manager or with developers, ensuring on-time, on-budget high quality product delivery).
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation and prepare detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support internal stakeholders by proposing realistic underwriting assumptions for business plans
- Contribute extensively to marketing and leasing strategies with the overall asset vision to maximize tenant satisfaction and asset performance.
- Integrate sustainability goals, ensuring projects alignment with the overall strategy (CRREM, taxonomy, certifications, EPCs…).
- Leverage smart building technologies to enhance operational efficiency, high environmental performance .
- Utilize SAP for financial management of operations, ensuring accurate and efficient financial tracking and reporting. Mentor junior project managers and contribute to talent development within the Development Europe & Innovation team.
- Act as a functional lead on strategic initiatives, supporting the Head of Development Europe in aligning regional development goals.
- Represent the Development function in investment committees.
Key Requirements
- Master’s degree in Real Estate discipline or related field (Architecture, Civil Engineering, etc). Complementary business/economics degree is as a plus
- 10+ years of relevant experience in real estate development or asset management
- Confirmed international experience on redevelopments covering hotel, logistic and residential conversions and asset classes covering technical, financial and commercial aspects. Multi-country management practice (managing projects and external stakeholders in different cultural areas across Europe)
- Proven ability in designing and execution of reorganizational and business strategies (harmonization of development practice across Europe, etc.) in large international organizations
- Experience in business plans elaboration, definition of underwriting assumptions (real assets).
- Exceptional analytical and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to manage complex contractual agreements and deliver optimal outcomes.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to remain composed and effective in dynamic, fast-paced environments. This includes proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Fluent in English and German (technical, commercial, and financial communication)
