We are looking for new Allianz Trade Group Head of Commercial & Distribution to play a pivotal role in accelerating profitable growth by shaping and leading our global B2B distribution strategy across all channels.

Reporting at Group level within Allianz Trade, this role carries end-to-end responsibility for Commercial and Distribution performance, spanning Brokers, Direct Sales Forces (DSF), Digital and Strategic Partnerships. It is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of strategy, execution, and transformation, with direct exposure to senior leadership and the Board.

 

Your Mission

You will define, implement, and continuously evolve the Group’s distribution model, ensuring sustainable growth, high productivity, and cost efficiency, while preparing the organization for the profound shifts driven by digitalization and omni‑channel distribution.

You will act as a strategic partner to Regions, Operating Entities, and Group Functions, translating market intelligence into scalable distribution initiatives that fuel long‑term performance.

 

Key Strategic Challenges

  • Stabilize and optimize distribution costs while sustaining growth
  • Strengthen Broker and DSF performance to drive organic growth and productivity
  • Anticipate and manage digital transformation impacts, including channel conflicts and omni-channel strategies
  • Position the organization for future-ready distribution models in a rapidly evolving market environment

 

Your Key Responsibilities

Group Distribution & Commercial Strategy

  • Define and implement the Group Target Distribution Model across all channels
  • Steer commercial performance, ensuring achievement of Group targets and robust reporting
  • Embed distribution priorities within the broader Group marketing and business strategy

Broker, DSF & Partner Excellence

  • Design and deploy DSF Commercial Excellence models to enhance productivity and performance
  • Lead the evolution of the Broker Engagement Framework (V2) to deliver: Sustainable organic growth, #1 Broker NPS, Stabilized distribution costs
  • Take personal accountability for Global Brokers and strategic partners, including banks and digital platforms
  • Lead and negotiate key global agreements

Leadership & Influence

  • Act as a Group reference leader for Commercial & Distribution
  • Foster strong collaboration across Group, Regions, Operating Entities, and central functions
  • Support local leadership teams in building high-performing commercial organizations
  • Identify, develop, and retain high-potential talent across the Group

 

Your Profile

Experience & Expertise

  • Proven senior leadership experience in commercial and/or distribution roles within complex, international environments
  • Deep expertise in distribution steering, particularly with Brokers and Direct Sales Forces
  • Strong understanding of global market dynamics, with the ability to translate market insight into actionable growth initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience navigating digital transformation and multi-channel distribution models
  • Experience in the Trade credit insurance sector is preferred

  • Ability to operate effectively within a matrix organization
  • Strong influencing skills, with the credibility to engage executive leadership and Boards
  • Natural connector, able to build long-term, trust-based relationships in evolving environments
  • Persuasive, resilient, and committed to delivering results at scale
  • Eager to stay updated with the latest digital trends and advancements and keen to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) in daily work as well as in innovative ways.
